Hi all, recently when driving, I can hear whistling sound (not that loud but loud enough to notice even when the radio is switched on) when driving. Sound is evident between estimated 2400 RPM to 2600 RPM. Sound is like the taxi whistling sound (woooooooo...) Only when driving.. Idle no sound when I rev. When the sound is there when driving, the sound also disappeared when I clutched in. Anyone encountered this before? Or any ideas what is causing this? FYI: I just changed timing belt, pump, etc but sound was noted only 1 week after the change. Not sure if it was related though.

Highly unlikely bro... Brakes does not have anything to do with the RPM...

did u install any sound system lately?
check on your wheel bearing... or mounting bearing..
or tension/timing belt is not done properly when they change it..so after 1-2 weeks later..the sound will comes on...go back workshop for them to realign the beltings again...

ur active sub cables might be too close with your power electrical cables..so when u accelerate...there is this aeroplane eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sound.
when switch off ur sound system... n accelerate, will u still hear this sound?
it could be ur belt tension after new installation.

Thanks Mindbox for the advice. It was the belting tension after all as I went back to the WS to check. New belt = tight, once loosen will not have the sound. P.S. Doesn't have the aeroplane sound lei..... Only sounded like when you are in the Taxi......
