Hello. I'm new here and i live in Trinidad & Tobago. I'm a proud owner of a white Kia Koup (1.6L Auto) ;D I'm looking to do some upgrades in the future. i was wondering if i can put in a turbo kit. I saw on www.turbokits.com turbo kits for the 2.0 & 2.4 engine but no info on the 1.6 engines (well English websites anyway.) Can anybody help me out on this one. Thx

Thx first, lets start off my introducing myself, I am Little Red Riding Hood Based in Singapore. Hello! Now, alot of people have the concept of adding a turbo kit to achieve a higher horsepower or torque right? So i believe you are looking for more power for the 1.6 engine of yours? So, starting from scratch, i believe that you know your engine's maximum output and how much more you can squeeze out of it. I am not very well versed in Koups but i believe that there are not that many aftermarket internals for the engine but correct me if I am wrong. How much horsepower you are looking for at the maximum power curve? What is your targeted boost level you are looking at in (Bar or PSI?)? Intended setup for low boost to improve mid range? Intended setup for high boost to improve high end range? Or just for better drivability with a slight tap of the accelerator? Lastly, budget?

Just for info.
Koup 1.6L
Cyl 76mm dia, hard to bore bigger and get piston to match.
Compression 10.5. Hard to boost much unless can find lower comp piston head.
Gasket double layer tried by some bros and boost .68 bar result in leak.
