Prepare some candies or chewing gum to chew while driving. Driver fatigue is one of the most dangerous factor that is often ignored. Get sufficient rest before the trip and have some coffee before setting off.
The rest is getting your vehicle checked. If you plan to service your vehicle, get it done 2 weeks before the trip.

I have been there 4 times on my pica. It is less than 4 hrs drive if you stop 2 - 3 times for rest. Drive at safe distance and overtake when necessary. Enough Sleep is important too.
So far my max speed on NSHW is 140km/h but I find quite dangerous because pica is lightweight. Safe is 100 - 120km/h. Reduce speed if you not familiar.
Check fluid, tires and bring GPS.

Remove all tyre changing tools n put back. Pump spare tyre. Check brake pads, tyre thread, clean off all stones from tyre groove ensure nothing poked thru. Check battery voltage, change if about 2yrs or low voltage. Any engine problem recently? If not you are fine. Happy roadtrip.

Looks like a lot of you forgot 2 main things to check. Make sure passport has at least 6 months validity. Make sure you have the Touch n Go card with at least RM50 in it. Traffic in Malacca is not that bad actually. Just that it is truely "Malaysia Boleh" lah. So it might be a good news for you. Enjoy the trip!

I'd recommend the Equatorial hotel the best location vs price... carpark is safe with a security... however do park head-in.. and use a steering wheel lock... those with 4 prongs... Equatorial price varies.. but you can search the best price available from Here: Equatorial Melaka

Only park head in if your car is front wheel drive, if your car is rear wheel drive then park rear in. Reason is that is anyone wants to tow your car away, with the driving wheel on floor is harder to tow, and if they insist on towing, then they will spoil the car and defeat the purpose of stealing.
