Dear Bros/Pros,
I do not own a Picanto currenty but am looking for one which fit in my budget lately. I am looking for the FL model. As i previously rented Kia picanto Non FL model before and i floor the Accelerator also never speed up to change lane, i dont feel secure but i believe it the Car rental company didnt manage the car properly and partially i am new driver then.
Hence asking advice on what can i change to improve Kia picanto once i managed to get my hands on one.
1 - Spark Plug 2 - Voltage stabilizer 3 - CAI 4 - Air filter
Will all these be enough to let me enjoy a smooth ride? Please add on if more and advice on which brand would be better (:
What price is consider a good price to purchase one? What is the OMV i can get back?
Thank you so much!

I think you can change to RISK. You can read up the reviews in the freelance market section.
If you have doubts, do a test drive. I'm sure that will clear your doubts.

1 - yes it helps but may have difference in fuel consumption. better or for worse, only after u try it. My cerato takes BRISK well and i am happy with the performance i get. Previously BOSCH was a good balance with power and FC too.
2 - VSD may not give u what u need. in any case, go for the good ORIGINAL JAPAN one. any others are poor engineering, have been debunked before and may even cause problems for your electronics.
3 - RISK has been proven.
4 - regardless of CAI or RISK ur air filter will be changed as a package.
when u get ur car, do an engine oil change, and if the mileage is about 60-80k km check if the fuel filter has been changed. if not change it.
transmission oil change. aircon full flush servicing, at the same time ask mechanic check for leaks.
brake oil change, top up and bleed. check brake pads, if not healthy get the popular 3rd party ones available in this forum.
check ur tyres. changing to performance tyres also help in driving experience.
lastly, every servicing 10k km use petrol system cleaner. this one is up to individual whether it works.
note if u always go JB pump petrol (esp the shell at customs) it is best not to delay fuel filter change. cerato is every 60k km.

every car got a "turbo" and a "sports mode".
your right foot. and the next (2) lower gear(s).
grab the best rpm for torque delivery. lower cc cars definitely bite the wheels at higher rpm, say 4-5krpm.

Sorry bro i do not know much about cars, and this is going to be my first car hence i chosen picanto. As this car is shared i believe my dad and i will ask the seller to go for a car inspection before selling to us, any place to go to change all the thing you mention above (if needed)? How much will it set me back for a VSD, Spark Plug, CAI(RISK in this case) ?

VSD don't bother la... tried once, tested once, and pui i wasted my money.
no point spending $300 on a machine that doesn't do much gain.
Spark plug change it when it wears out.
Just do a CAI or RISK. its cheap, manageable, and it lasts you for a lifetime. RISK is transferrable (if you let Roy experiment on your new ride!)

Which can improve BHP and torque? How can i improve FC? Adding voltage stabilizer will be better for the car, no? Thanks (:

VSD helps if you play with ICE if you ask me in terms of performance don't think that's where you should be looking. CAI is basically a pipe that allows air to come in more directly from the outside. Might still be using your stock box depending on the setup you have chosen. For me I tried CAI keeping my stock box and i would say the power difference is minimum just lets you hear abit of the sporty sound. R.I.S.K on the other hand is a difference that you can hear and feel. And whether R.I.S.K or CAI increases your FC I say it really depends on the driver's foot. If you drive normally RISK does increase FC for me. CAI no difference for me.

I believe VSD is spark optimiser and VS is the one useful for ICE rt? Yes VSD is for the spark plug. hehe VS = Very Stupid VSD = Very Stupid De So don't do... been there, done that. You want, I can sell you my VS sitting under my bonnet. Other than minimal placebo effect, you can't feel anything extra

tat QF is e last card to be drawn! Many of us here had tried many setups for our Picantos. Best result in terms of performance & gives good FC is RISK + QF. Tat's all u need. For a start, u may wan to change e spark plugs. Follow by RISK den QF. After tat, u may wan to look into rims & a good set of performance tyres. Lastly, u may wan to improve ur ICE for listening pleasure. After all these, ur pica will be shiok shiok! Btw, u may wan to join us this coming Friday night at kallang to see some of our picas! Hehe...

Haha....all this talk.... I think buy car liao then go figure... Singapore really....haiz... A car functioning normally is the first priority with all stock parts intacted. Think when i get 2nd hand car, i lagi worry more to spend on maintenance, road tax, insurance, season parking than on mod.... Anyway, TS can buy Snakekid pica... full of mod, gurantee siok and forget the feeling of how a stock pica moves!!!!
