I know the original size is supposed to be 205/50/16, but choice of tyres are not much... pricing also higher Just wondering if any bros/sis has tried 205/55/16 instead? If yes, any problems with handling/rubbing against fender when doing full turn or carrying full load of passengers? Thanks in advance!

you can try 195/50R16 or 195/55R16. Hypermilers go for low, narrow profile as their style of driving does save fuel when cruising due to less wind resistance (narrower tyre) and less wasted energy from tyre flex as section height is lower. For 195/50R16, get the XL rated tyre (eg KUMHO KH31) as it usually means 2 plys to take higher pressure and the additional ply may add more stiffness.
I am getting better fuel economy from 195/50R16 (KUMHO KH31) vs 205/50R16 (KUMHO KU31), it may be combi of tyre width and compound and my pickup is a little bit quicker with less rubber on the road, again narrower and the compound I believe.

Thanks bros! Probably stick to original rims to save money, downsizing to 15" need to fork out $$$ for new rims, standard 205/50/16 quite expensive as well... now that can try up-size and pay less

Bridgestone RE001 (old model) got offer for this sizing as it is rather 'odd' size. Not sure how much though and forgot if stamford tyre or pitstop tyre got the offer.
You want performance or 'family' tire?
