Happen to talk to Joey yesterday evening at Jurong Branch. First, he offered to look at my car "problem" himself and answered to my many enquiries (I am a person with lots of questions when comes to my ride). Got some great sincere advices from him and best of all, save some monies and felt less stressful after that....Will be back to Harmony for my next servicing as my term with C & C had just ended.....Thanks Bro!

On a side note though, was highlighted that gotta change water pump/fan belt & bearings.. my ride oly 72k km.. kinda too early for pushy sales right? LOL.. am aware of the pulley belt bef 80k km..

all cars are driven with different drivers n style. usage or type of care given also different.. so giving advise by mechanics are also based on different car condition lo.
manual say 80k..if ur water pump n belt got problem at 72k...will u blame korean or komoco? i think no... at most we will lan lan suck thumb.
if mech tell u just change at 80k for the sake of telling... tomorrow ur belt or pump burst... u blame him? most ppl will do so...
all i can say... if u trust them... u can go ahead n if pocket allows... short of 8k mileage is nothing to me actually.
if u dun wan to trust them or have self belief... then u stick to manual 80k or even more...
all i can say is no right no wrong.
but i do believe bro joey business attitude... sometime its hard to manage a team of mech wic he has to managed thou.

Thanks Bradda for all your compliments. Yes, I have a new team. Bo Bian. I am changing my company name to Harmony Auto Training Institute liao. Haha, have been training Technicians for other workshop. Poaching price is as high as $500 for my China Mech. Elvis is a very good leader. He is not new to our industry. Do you know HOS? If you know, your should know him. I am so blessed to have him working with me. Bro Mindbox, you are always my best pal. Know me inside out. Glad to have you as my friend. Take care Bro.

So mindbox, the mileage of yr ride? care to share you replaced yr belt @ 80k? When was yr water pump / bearings changed? Stick strictly to manual or mech advice? U svc @ harmony too?
I have same ride mates with mileage of 100k & 120k.. nvr heard of replacing water pump and bearings yet. Thus raises questions.
Yup acknowledge Harmony service is better than before, thus starting the thread and just seeking opinions on this technical stuffs.

I think this 80K thing is based on mechanic's experience. My friend's pica also went for major service at 80K and changed belts, water pump etc.. It's more of a 'better be safe than sorry' approach.
The key thing is some vehicles can use up to 120K (My dad's lancer CS3), while some owners choose to change early. I believe it's all up to individual preferences.
If I were to change at 100K beyond mechanic's recommendations, I would have to check the coolant level periodically for leaks, which I don't usually do.

Yup acknowledge Harmony service is better than before, thus starting the thread and just seeking opinions on this technical stuffs. mileage for my current avante is coming 80k... but has been monitoring myself during regular servicing...car wash session or during engine bay cleaning session... i have few uncles in family who is mech themselves...so there is always some monitoring n gd advises... they also say..if u scare..change at 80k... but they say normal daily driven cars can last till 100k then change... if i head their advise to wait till 100k n suddenly it snap before 100k... i know they r jus giving general advise. just like.. when shd i change my light bulbs at home... the packaging say can last 1000 hours... but if it kaput at 800 hrs... its based on individual usage... but if last more than 1000 hrs... i cun say the packaging bluff us too. this also applies to many parts/gadgets in our car too, mech only gives general advise. conclusion - i learnt from both manual book n mechs advises.. then i make my own judgement n monitoring. certain things i change at specific interval... certain things i drag abit.. i driven few rides before current avante...so a little more experiences... but its never ending lo...till recently, i just know we can change oil in OUR AIR CON COMPRESSOR to last longer!!! we learn...we share..

Koup are on 5 year unlimited warranty, if within 5 years n below 100k, we can claim warranty for parts tat fail before their scheduled replacement, thus change early on our own outside void the warranty.
Cars are expensive n are liability, maintenance should consider cost saving as much as possible. Else why buy new?

I would advise new car owners to read the owners' manual carefully... according to the coverage of the warranty, technically, not all parts in your new car are covered by the 5 years. Some parts are only covered for 1 year.

i see.. tks Mindbox for sharing yr ride details. i guess with forums, there will be no shortage of tools to gather/share useful info. The problem is that good stuff are either hard to find or mixed with the bad. Unintentionally some will include their own preferences and convert it as a must belief. While other workshops, they will ask you change this change that.. pushy sales.. yes the item mst change, just sooner or later.. boils down to personal logic analysis and cost savings i guess. i have friends with NA sedan cars and svc every 5k mileage i'm more concerned about bearings and water pump thus seeking assistance online. Seems like many go along mechnical advice. I grew up more of pushing intellectual work (ask why) rather than factory work (just do it). I shall absorb impt infos and filter out those noise.

Boss Joey, do you have the latest price list for doing a major service at either Jurong or AMK?
Looking to do the following: 1) EO change + filter 2) Brake fluid flush + renew 3) Brake pads change (own parts) 4) Power Steering fluid renew 5) ATF fluid renew 6) All other normal checks + top-ups (e.g. coolant, etc)
Do PM the price if you prefer, thanks!
