my setup is in my signature. Using ATE brake fluid (if u havent try, MUST try for cerato esp)
Bendix Metal King front and rear replaced together, brand new sealed.
First thoughts when i first tried on a cerato V2 AUTO: feels alright only. like similar to stock compared to mine. but we did discuss that probably manual and auto brake system may not be 100% identical and that manual has engine brake to assist in stopping.
After install on mine:
Straight roll out normal driving on the road, u will not feel much. U will only hear the gripping sound when u let go that assures u that it is a new set of pads. But I did not feel much improvement over stock (whats more, it has run at least 30-40,000km before i had it swapped out but at least it shows stock has constant performance throughout its life span).
Then i went on expressway for a little jog, feels that high speed braking is more assuring than before. nothing much.
then i thought i should just bed in the pads (did i read somewhere that doesnt need to bed in these ones?) anyway i did the normal bedding in. after a few drives this is the final conclusion:
Braking improved rather substantially throughout the speed ranges. Take note it will not make ur car perform like sports car or EVEN a jap car due to our braking system being spongy regardless of how u upgrade ur setup (unless u BBK then i dono).
but now instead of just hearing the assuring grip sound during low speed, the car slows down pretty much to a stop as well. u step less for slowing down, but u step just as hard for stopping (compared to stock), except this time less braking distance.
I have just tried it this morning (not due to choice) with a sucker who whacks his auto gear and brakes like hitting a wall because he doesnt want any car to eat into his lane. i almost become a victim.
Note: till now it has been 3 days since i changed my pad, whenever i do a light brake i hear screeching sounds. though it has been getting a lil less, i do know of some high performance brakes that are perpetually shouting everytime u ask ur babe to slow down. like STOPPPPPPPPPP so if u cant take noise just go stock and drive slow.
