Do you guys have specific preferences? Looking to see if 92/95/98 is around the same. Did a brief research on the octane, the higher it goes, the less it will prematurely detonate. I am trying 98, feels more smooth. Checking with the rest if it's just my hweeling.

Personally when I was driving a picanto, RON92 was way to go for me. Basically the car cannot run liao, RON92 although a bit lack of power, I don't really need that also. When needed just step a bit more lor.
but sometimes I will feed it with VPower, the sudden jump will make the ride more shiok. hahaha

only pumped 92 cos the cheapest obviously, i think using 95/98 is based on butt dyno liao. So no point lah, small car nia.

find more articles on the myth using higher octane ride smoother and more powerful personally i agree it's a myth and u just wasting money by pumping anything more than ron92 cos the min is 91. tried 98 for once that was during shell $1/litre.. regretted.

Hmmm. My personal experience is that when using 92, I get about 13.9km/l. Using 95 get 10.91km/l and when using 98 I get 12.6km/l. All test done using Caltex petrol and a stock Auto Picanto Pre-FL.
I too am surprise for 92 I get more mileage and trust me I tried V-Power b4. To me is simply no use. Like no effect. If have most probably is my own mind playing games on me. Think those that got mod then use V-power ba.

the octane level is how well your fuel gets combusted. ideally the higher the ron, the better the combustion and therefore higher fuel consumption. technically speaking, octane levels will produce different powers at different octane levels, you can feel the smoother acceleration but that is about it. Do not expect V-Power to make your car fly RON92 does indeed gives you a slightly better mileage compared to higher octance fuels due to some of the reasons which i have observed: 1) U know that you are using RON92 2) U know that performance is the last thing with this fuel 3) U know that it's pointless to drive furiosuly with RON92 4) U know that you will drive economically by being light footed 5) U know the theory of big car eat smaller cars 6) U know you are the small car 7) U know items number 6, so you won't even bother to try outrun another car unless it's a QQ 8) U know that insurance is expensive 9) U know that the fuel prices are high 10) U know that a 1100cc car only produces something like 50 - 60 BHP MAX on stock 11) You know that the list goes on and on and on ......... That's why the mileage is better!

Higher octane is really smoother leh. Mileage wise I got no comments though. 92 really no Power.
But one WS told me before, u pump 98, u nonid to whack ur car so much, engine last longer. I think got some truth but end of day, u may enjoy the whacking so much engine wear faster!!!

Hmmm. I did the test by clearing out the old fuel and pumping the same grade 3 times and I get the average figure. Anyway what do you guys mean smoother acceleration? Cause all feel the same to me. But mine is Auto so I dunno if you guys are talking about smoother acceleration for Manual or auto car. But anyway all in all its your own chioce. If you happy with 98 no one is stopping you and if you like 92 also no one really cares lol. Your car your money your way.
