Hi All, ever wondered how come the clutch biting points for pica differs sometimes when you drive? the clutch assembly might still be ok or for those who has changed a new clutch might encounter this as well. Our clutch uses means of a cable similiar to the one used in bicycle cable / wired brakes. Sometimes, those mini strands break due to age, wear and tear & over stressed with hard clutch pumping. So the biting points will get lower n lower each time a mini strand breaks. replacing the cable will involve some work especially removing the dashboard etc.....kinda intense..... But the consolation is, it costs from $100 - $120 including labour Had a friend who experience the problem and it is solved. Some other workshops asked him to change the entire clutch assembly and what nots amounting to $500 - $600 omg! i wanna open workshop like that can chop carrots!

Hi Bro, replace clutch cable do not need to remover dashboard, only need to remove your air intake box completely.
Suggest you check on your clutch cable first, maybe it had start to wear down already.

actually the concept of hydraulic is like the oil will somewhat push against a mini piston to disengage the clutch. that is what i think......

Cable pull, hydraulic push. You are right. Gearbox area needs a mounting for slave pump to install, Driver pedal needs to convert to push type instead of pull type also.

Unless picas can have either a dual spring pressure plate or best if can have those twin plates type will some ringing sounds

How many pica drivers willing to do this? All looking forward to big cars in future. Cable clutch has a very high wear for sg cars, we race traffic lights + jams. It also reduces alot of aftermkt clutch as they tends to stress the cable more.
