Hi All , A very good morning to all. I was contemplating on buying a V2(A) as my bro has a V1(M) and I know for myself how good and reliable it is. Was looking at this particular car(refer to the link below). Kindly enlighten me with your feedbacks and opinions with regards to my enquiry . www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=202024&DL=1096 Thanks Guys…

Nice bodykit, if buy direct from C & C a whopping 2k....haha...
Please take note when buying V2 as there is also premium edition and normal edition V2.
Premium got alantra leather semi bucket like seat, climate aircon control and some got sunroof.
That is why some are price more.

Nice and neat car with bodykit. I suggest you ask the dealer to send for STA inspection, if result grade A or B then is fine. Then ask for $1500 discount, full polishing, full tank of petrol last but not least dealer warranty for a year or 6 months. Make sure all agreement must be in black and white.
Just sold my V2 last month. If not I can sell you at a much lower price...

for now its a good buy, only worry is auto transmission, one of the more expensive part of a car. Must go to a reliable mechanic to check...

Hey Guys, Would like to thank all who have read and helped me in my uncertainty. I know the manual transmission is problem free as my bro has a V1 for about 4 years now and has yet to change the clutch plate as yet . Not sure about the Auto transmission though !! An Bros have had any issues with the Auto transmission? Cheers…..

I heard that the Auto for Cerato V1 has no power. The feeling is different from driving the manual. Though I had no idea about V2 since the 2 models are of different engines. Accordingly, V2's CVVT will be of a better choice as it is much more fuel saving and powerful to V1's G(4)ED DOHC and they have internal door chrome handles.

Open and shut the doors, listen to the sound as the door shuts, gaps are a good clue if doors were hit before. Open bonnet, look at weld lines, look for uneveness or filler marks. If yes, it suggest a frontal hit. Open the boot, remove the liner. Look at spare tyre well, area around light clusters, again look for uneveness or filler marks. All these suggest an accident repair. I have witnessed panel beaters at work, I was a metal worker once and having owned a rear-ended car, as well as wrecking the front of my first car, i suggest staying away from one, it is a future rust bucket ...

14km/l? Impossible. AT somemore.
Ya, v1 auto no power if stock. V2 i not sure but surely better than v1. Don't trust the 14km/l, hard to believe.

I am still trying very hard to achieve 13km/l for my v1 Manual... THe highest i got was 12.83km/l.... Once I've achieved, I will let you know.. hee hee...14km/l is avante right?

v2 got a good power to weight ratio for its size. fuel consumption on paper is 13.2km/l
however i believe that is based on 15" rims. there are 15" and 16" stock V2.
avante gets 13~km/l on auto due to lighter weight but same engine as v2. also 15" stock.
i've been trying to change to avante for a while now... but looking at the prices, keep better.
build quality wise, v2 is more well built than the avante.
v1 is of course slower.... but its still sturdy. due to availability of mods, it is easy to get the v1 souped up nicely for city driving. owner can afford to try this, try that without busting a hole in the pocket.

Actually I am quite surprise to see quite a number of new registered Hyundai Elantra despite the current high COE. Actually I find that Hyundai's car prices are getting close to the Japanese. Comparing N. Latio, H. Elantra and T.C. Altis. Notwithstanding the attractive features and design of the New R. Fluence which is about 3K difference from H. Elantra

This is confirmed not the v2 premium as it lacks the digraph climte control and electronic chromatic mirror. I drive the v2 auto. Quite powerful for me, pick up is quite torquey, makes driving in traffic jams a bit harsh as it is hard to get a smooth roll forward without the car jerking fwd. maybe my foot too heavy..
