hi, bro & sis, i am a happy Carens owner (2007 model). Nice to find this place where I could get info about good service workshop & others.
during the service last Sat, they told me my tires are too old and need to be replaced. I am on 215/45/R17 previouly, but went to Stamford @ Jurong, they said they got promotion for Continental CSC3, the promotion one is 225/45/R17, which is wider than mine. In fact, i am quite a noob for cars... then I agreed to install these 225/45/R17. I did not really fell too much difference after this change, except fell "a bit" quite (not sure if this fell is psychological, since they are "new" tires, and my car is just after service¡).
Any bro or sis here do this kind of change, and is there any comments? Also, is there any review for these CSC3 tires? Appreciated for the comments.

the correct size should be 225/50R17, however, 225/45R17 still ok only that feel not very comfortable only lor cos profile too low.
new tires are quite but after 1000km noisy liao

ok. just checked. it's indeed 225/45/R17. Don't know why they installed these but not 225/50/R17, is it because the 225/45/R17 is cheap?...

You new tires is 3.5% smaller than the recommended. So FC will be higher. Also, your tire are half inch lower than the recommended, so be careful with humps. ok. just checked. it's indeed 225/45/R17. Don't know why they installed these but not 225/50/R17, is it because the 225/45/R17 is cheap?...

For tires, when you open your driver side door, the recommended tires size and pressure is pasted on the chassis side. For 15" 16" and 17". For 18" ~22"...... Only Carens sold in Mars are fitted with that size......heeeee..... For rims info, you can refer to your car manual........no manual ?? Try this : sgkiaclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Carensgeneral&action=display&thread=16088It is the J thing......6.5J for 17" RIMS. thanks for the advice, appletree is there any place where I could find the recommended rim or tire for our carens... quite a noob for this.

WOW, the Koup owner don't like the stock rims....hmmm Anyway, every inch increase in RIM size cost about 30km per full tank. Don't know why it is like that ?? i always trusted OEM sports rims....tts why i got myself a set of Koup rims :-)

thanks yah. hehe~~ it's indeed the mar batch. the recommanded one is 225/50/R17 on the driver's door. this suggests I am now on a 5mm smaller tire, am i right? sign... how can the stamford do such thing to its customer with no knowledge of tires at all... guess now have to live with the tires untill changed next time. the only good thing is i did not fell any difference so far except a bit quiet on the new tires. Actually, owner really need to know the tire size lor.....that why the tires recommendation is with the car. Stamford did you a favour in someway as the previous tires are even smaller by 4.8%. Your current only smaller by 3.4%. I don't work in Stamford hor.......Just my thoughts.....heeeeee..... thanks yah. hehe~~ it's indeed the mar batch. the recommanded one is 225/50/R17 on the driver's door. this suggests I am now on a 5mm smaller tire, am i right? sign... how can the stamford do such thing to its customer with no knowledge of tires at all... guess now have to live with the tires untill changed next time. the only good thing is i did not fell any difference so far except a bit quiet on the new tires. For Kia Carens, try Michelin Primacy LC....I am not sure how true it is that it is SOOOO QUIET rolling on the road. and sooooo low rolling resistance that FC can improve, and the throttle response will be great. Press the throttle down only 1cm ~ 2cm and the entire Carens can move forward without hessitation = light throttle.

very useful to know actual speed. I am trying to find out the difference in tire wall, how will it affect FC? eg from a thicker wall to a thinner wall.

I changed from 215/60/16 to 225/50/17... Think becoz of that my consumption suffers...from 10-10.5km/L to 8-9.5km/L
