Hi Bro, My Carens is a April 2007 model, the color is purple. Im contactable @ 91855667,email:skydragon33@yahoo.com.sg.
I used to drive a civic, so this Carens is totally new to me. Well, i got her for abt a week, the power is not bad though, have not revved her up yet,but I can see Carens is quite a drinker.Btw,what are the usual problems that you guys have encountered with the Carens?
Cheers!

Well... generally there isn;t any major problem with the Carens (haha.. even if have, u already bought the ride!)
Only complaint is the fuel consumption... but it isn't very worst off from other Japs models... in fact, some of our fellows here have quite good FC... comparable to sedan...
You'll probably learn to find out that the Carens is very stable, esp. when crusing along the NS hiway...
Well... dont worry... enjoy your ride!

hi jeffrey, welcome.
CVVT & VTEC is just an engine design from the manufacturer that's all. you got a 2nd hand Carens if i;m correct, first of all you got to check on the milage of your carens. if it's reaching 80K do go for a check, i think you should have experience on that since you drove a civic.
mine is about 78K and i just got the below replace/service last weekend
1) general servicing as usual (engine oil / oil filter / air filter) 2) change brake fluid 3) change front & rear brake pads 4) change power steering fluid 5) change auto transmission fluid 6) change battery
do enjoy the car......cheers.....

CVVT and VTEC is the same thing with different implmentation. CCVT is generally design to improve FC, Low/High speed performance. VTEC is to increase power.....which also save fuel. The Carens engine is the Theta Engine from Hyundai. It is Hyundai 3rd Generation All Aluminium Engine. Also called the World Engine. The EVO also use this engine too (except high grade.....so try not to drive the Karen like a EVO) Yes. FC is a problem. By known FC from the three : Stream 12km/L typical, combined 14.9km/L Wish 10~11km/L typical, combined 12.1km/L (05~08) 14.9km/L (09~) Carens 8~9km/L typical, combined 10.9km/L (06~08) 11.9km/L (09~) It is not really the engine fault......it is the gross weight. Carens is selling worldwide, the ave weight per passenger is 70kg. Stream and Wish is for Asia Market. The load per passenger is much lower. The Carens can carry about 650kg of load. If you go on the highway like NSE you can even get 11~13km/L @ 110km/L. For typical usage, you probably spend $1000 more on fuel than Stream........but the cheaper cost of ownership is well enough to cover that for the life of the COE. Anything you want to know about Carens....... Thanks Bros. Btw,what's the diff between our Carens CVVT and Vtec? Jeff

Yes... agreed with Bro Appletree's last point... 'Although you may probably spend more on fuel on the Carens compared to other Japs make, the cheaper cost of ownership is well enough to cover that for the life of the COE'.

WOW......you are EVIL !!! I like it...... But the CEL will lightup like a Christmas tree as the Karen has a Pre and Post O2 sensor configuration and the usual 3way Cat. Just remove the CEL light bulb should solve the problem. I am stock from head to toe......heeee... Tks all bros,is very very informative. Yup, the FC is high, I used to pump in msia.
