Currently on 185/65/R14... Yokohama... not intending to change rims....
Saw a ride having the Michelin Energy XM1.. looks good... anyone tried?

I can recommend the KU31, it has more than enough grip for my Cerato when I had 16" wheels. 2 months after I fitted them, I took a 5 days road trip first to KL, then Ipoh, onto Rd 4 going west-east to Kota Bahru, this is one of the most scenic and windy road, taking in the lakes. From Kota Bahru, along the coastal road down to Johor. This was in November, and its was extreme monsoon with lots of rain and reports of flooding. Practically rained from Ipoh till I got to Mersing, so I had a real test of dry and wet roads, twisty, narrow secondary roads with potholes, recessed drain covers and all sorts road imperfections. Highway 3 down the east coast was mostly empty when it rained, so I had lots of road clearance to push at 90km/h in the rain. Back on our roads, some times I intentionally pushed during heavy downpours just to get that wet driving feel going 90-100km/h, and it was always reassuring. Alas, by 25,000km its feel on wet roads changed, no longer what it was before, but still perfectly good on dry roads and if kept to normal speeds, safe in the rain too. Unfortunately, the KU31 are not available by the time I had to change tyres. I'll buy them again come tyre changing next.

i think Tyrepac has got 205/45 R16 if that fits you. Or go with the KH31, I don't know the family relation in the Kumho model lineup but it received good reviews in some german tests.

I've tried Falken 452, their flagship tyre on my previous ride, good performance but rather noisy after it has run in. Was replaced with hankook evo v12, I prefer the latter...more comfortable, quieter and cheaper...
currently on my new ride is using nexen, can't remember which model (stock) find it more noisy then falken 452.....

in terms of noise and comfort, yes. I'm using big rims 245/40/19, rather heavy clumsy feeling with falken, V12 feels lighter & easier to steer. The effect may not be that great on smaller rims I presume... Dry grip seems no much diff...dun really hv chance to try hard cornering on wet as I change my ride after 2 months on V12.... Falken wear off > 60% after 30K mileage, not sure abt V12

If u r interested in hankook, these are the range of models rank according to the performance : RS-3 S1 Evo V12 Ev0 Prime V12 is in between performance and comfort. If u r going for comfort tyre, Prime is their best choice. Best grip performance, go for RS-3.

My Kia Rondo 2L EX is using the Korean brand Kumho Solus 205/65 R15. Seems not bad since it is a new ride, and closed to 13,000 km now. I plan to switch to two possible choices in the future when it is 5 years or > 70,000 km run : either Michelin Energy Saver A/S, or Michelin Primacy LC. Heard that can have good fuel consumption. Not sure anyone here use any of these two before ? Appreciate to give some comments.
