Any bro encountering engine rpm increase by itself to 2.5k even when free gear and not stepping on accelerator? Happen 2nd time this morning. Was accelerating slowly when suddenly rpm increase to 2- 2.5k and will stay there even when i stop and free gear and not stepping on accelerator. Engine will then idle at 2k to 2.5k. Have check the accelerator and its not stuck. Have also try to switch off and then on engine but still the same. Then problem disappear and back to normal suddenly.
Is this problem due to faulty or dirty throttle body?

A dirty sensor also contributes to high engine revolutions during idle. I forgot which sensor it is. Hmm.

When the engine is cold, the rpm is not high, it still stays at 800-900rpm. Mine is a V1 HB

It happen during morning. But when cold start the rpm idling still within normal range (1-1.3k). Its only after driving for about few minutes then the rpm ram up by itself to 2- 2.5k. This morning try to start car but cannot. After many tries still cannot. In the end have to step on accelerator and then turn on ignition then managed to start the car. Went to workshop then found that radiator (plastic top part) is leaking and also engine valve gasket also leaking. Replaced these items and now seems ok. Have to monitor further.

whao liao bro, don't sounds so gloomy lah. wear-and-tear/maintenance is part-and-parcel of car ownership. (a) ilding problem : pls check d throttle body. The mechanism of the butterfly is stuck. Need washing/servicing. pls oso chk the idling sensor. (b) car jerk while travelling : firing problem or fuel (dirty) problem. For my case, it was due to the iginition coil x'former. anyway u can look up for joey (harmony motors) if u prefer. He has the necessary tools and equipment to so such diagnostics.

Spark plug now using normal plugs from Min Ghee leh. Now no more idling problem after changing radiator (top plastic part). Fuel using esso 95 for more than 2 yrs liao so should not be fuel problem. Now can only monitor and hope it dun happen again. Still not yet replace the broken front shock absorber mounts and engine mounts and now this happen

I experienced this high idle rpm a few weeks ago also. It happened after radiator replaced. It was after checking the coolant, I slipped and dropped the bonnet. After that, the rpm shoot to 2.5k. It was like tat for ard 5 to 10 min until I shut down. The next day also like tat. This time, I drove on. Just abt 200m before my destination, it went back to normal. Did a search on the net and some say it could be PCV, O2 sensor or idling sensor. I left it untouched till now since it recover to the normal state.
Btw, mine is a 05 MT hb.

Check your O2 sensor bro. Pushing up the RPM is one thing but then suddenl dropping so fast tje engine stall, that is the main problem.

Seems quite a concern to me.

The defect is due to idling speed sensor. The sensor is located between the Map sensor and throttle. positioning sensor. The idling speed go back to normal after idling speed sensor replaced.
For your reference..
