Hello all, Happy New Year. Just got myself a 05 Cerato HB. Noticed that the car will downshift once throttle released when cruising around 70-100km/h. Wksp said due to the change in engine air filter (Hurricane) which increases the air flow causing engine ECU to mix up. Any of you facing the same problem or using Hurricane? Thank you.

means once his foot lifts off the accelerator pedal, the auto gearbox will downshift.

Ic Ic.. I sensed this during NSH going at 110-120kmh the time, when there is a car in front of me, I lift my foot to slow down the time, I can c the rpm raise (which supposed to drop?) but it is just a likely 0.5s it drop back.. Never figure it out what happen, tot it was the auto gearbox respond to react downshift when lighter foot at acc pedal (the first sight to lift foot totally) to maintain ur current speed.. Just my guess..

The downshifting is very strong. I can be cruising at 100km/h, ~2600rpm and once the pedal is released, the rpm raises to about 4000 and the car pulls heavily. Wksp said caused by Hurricane , switched back to Stock Filter still the same. Haiz. Gotta send back for check.

Oh yeah, btw, a full tank of mine can go about 300+km only even with very light right foot drive. Any of your cars (stock) that thirsty? Hopefully this is linked to the gearbox prob.

Oh no. Mine is real thirsty. Running on 16", Brisk Plugs, Hurricane filter, just change e oil, trans oil and still thirsty. Hopefully caused by the Gearbox prob. Car is in hospital now doing checks. Haiz. Stupid wksp telling me is the filter that causes the prob.

2600rpm at 100km/h, that is pretty low. Mine is a 07 HB Manual, 100km/h at 2800-2900rpm. Is mine normal??

AT final gear 100kmh roughly 2.6krpm, 120kmh 3krpm.. MT need bros here to advice..
For TS, 300km per full tank definitely something goes wrong, mind to share when u call it full tank, how many litre u pump for it? And % of city/jam n expressway?

Should b normal when u release the pedal, gear wil shift up. Maybe TS heavy footer which causes the high fuel consumption?

Anyway, I just observed. The gearbox doesn't downshift but there's a slight(very minimal) pull back force due to engine braking. Just to share, mine is 100km/h @ 2.5k RPM and 120km/h @ 2.8k RPM.

Are you serious? I'm driving a V1 stock Hb, 70km/hr @ 2000rpm. 100km/hr @ 3100rpm. Is something wrong with my ride?

Hey Marine Bro, I guess they are talking about V2. My stock V1 HB also about the same as urs. But i achieve 100km/hr at 2800-2900rpm somewad less than ur stated 3100rpm. 3100rpm is about 110-120km/hr depending whether upslope or downslope.
