Hi bros,
i just went for my 70k servicing.
it cost a whopping S$370 in total changed rear licence plate bulb. changed aircon filter changed engine filter rotate tyres.
i can't imagine how much the major 80k servicing will cost.
my warranty is going to be up in May 2011.
i hope to seek advice on quality workshops to do servicing after my warranty has ended.
any advice please kindly enlighten! Thank you!

Hi bro,
Thanks for the reply! i prefer Local workshops.
so personally ... which one would u recommend?
a bit ex never mind.... as long as cheaper than C&C.
1) must be reliable and honest 2) must not anyhow ask u to change parts without reason 3) must know when to change parts if really need to change. like timing belt etc.
i'm not price sensitive. i prefer reliable and honest.
with that in mind, what is ur final suggestion for kia rio ?

bro you can try
1) Sebs Auto - Kaki Bukit Autobay 2) CK motor - AMK autopoint
both are reliable and honest. Price wise is also reasonable.

sounds like sebs auto is highly rated in this forum!
alright after my 80k servicing (just before warranty expire),
i'll proceed to service with sebs auto.
i hope to cut my servicing bills by half (compared to C&C)

any WS you choose outside can easily save you 1/2 the $$$. highly rated does not mean its good. read more reviews from other forums. there could be better ones

went to seb auto twice.. sevice is good.. if no need to change, they will tell you.. owner is a retiree who jus wan to have something to do.. not "hang ard" do nothing.. wkmanship and parts are cheap (cheaper if you bring ur own parts).. and since they are experienced in handling korean cars, y not give them a try..
add in: most imptly, you must be comfortable with the workshop you are going.. cheers..

Hi, Anybody want to try JB for servicing, I do mine over there all the time, bring your own oil, filter and plugs and they change for you at rm15. Did my timing belt change, bought belts, and everything else from sg except water pump, and went over to change for rm80 workmanship. spare parts cost me about $160 from uti shop.

for normal servicing like change engine oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, it will be cheaper to buy your own parts and pay labor charge of $15 to change them , in JB its RM15

bro carensncarens, u need to try few workshops above suggested by some bros n feel it on ur own. its take some times to know wic workshop or tyre shop that u like..
above is only a reference for urself but u need to try one by one.. WE ALL DO TAT...
if u wan, call these workshops suggested & ask for quotes. u go for the one u like n experienced it. if u like it at first try, stay put w them n built up a relationship. if not, try other workshops till u found one THAT U LIKE or COMFORTABLE with..

if really want to save......buy the parts urself from min ghee, then look for ur favourite workshop to change or install.
i buy my stuff from min ghee, and all the oils i also buy myself. this saves u the most but takes up most time. good thing is u choose all the things urself and to ur liking only.
for repairs though, have to really go for quality. till now i dont really know which one is good and reasonably cheap.

Hi, Just done servicing to my Rio. Bought parts Oil filter , Hyundai ATF oil, ATF filter from Xinsheng at Ubi. My advice to get all parts including oil from SG cause JB oil very expensive. Regret didnot buy brake oil and power steering oil from SG. Here the list done to my Rio with mileage 107K
1. Changed Engine oil and filter. 2. Changed ATF oil and filter 3. Flush coolant, using Toyota premix long life 4. Flush brake oil. Oil from their shop 1.5L = RM18/0.5L = 54 5. Flush power steering oil, 2 L = RM55 perL = 110. 6. Balance, rotate and alignment wheels = RM35 7. SVC charge = RM60 . Total Bills = Rm 259.
Try to find workshop further away from JB town, my svc was done at Taman University about 30mins drive from town. That was my 3rd visit to their shop. First visit bought Hankook V12 tyre from them, Sg$20 cheaper per tyre compare to SG shop. Found this WS from MCF forumer.
