wow. haha.
anyway i just bought an underseat woofer yesterday at $260. Brand: Target.
Its not bad, and the sound is complete with this set up. Not for fussy ears. I like the bass and everything in my ride now!

ICE is expensive...haha... The thing is how much you want to spend?
stock speakers will not get you anywhere I feel.. and unless your HU is a kind that has very high output..then you do not need to spend on an amp..
your system has only as good as your 'weakest' componenet..
so the next best thing is to set a max budget you wanna buy... then divide it up to 3 or 4 components in this order.. 1)speakers 2)amp 3)HU 4)sub. Or you can get the HU last.. assuming your current head unit can support a sub input...and has space for 2 speaker inputs(1 for tweet and 1 for bass or if your getting component speakers.. then you can opt for cheaper amp as i feel since the tweets are so low, dun need to get so good amp that bring out the tweets.. just have boom boom feel can liao)
then.. the question is.. would you be satisfied? if you think you are the itchy backside type.. then whack all 1 time for a nice system..
i've have not even touched the setup type set.. active or passive...haha

Kerwen, active sub already has a built-in amp, so there's no need for an external amp...
take ur time to decide on which equipments to buy coz ICE upgrades can be costly...most impt is not to compare with other ppl's setup as there will always be a better setup out there...
so long ur setup pleases ur ears, that is the best setup liao...

yup, mine is an active sub and it's goooood. $260 initial I thought it was expensive. but the workshop let me hear the ib myself before I commit myself to make a decision. considering that I do not need to buy an amp to power the bass, and our car is small which do not need much power to bring out the bass, the 260 is quite worth the pain.
mondbox, nope although I am a bass head, there is still my fab in ear earphones to play with. so no go for such boomy bass for my ride. hehe.
this active sub is good ecause I really enjoy my driving trips now. very satisfying, and good enough for short distance traveling. my stand stays... car ice don't spend too much. equivalent expenditure on a simple setup can buy you a high end in ear earphones for music enjoyment. ice is just a luxurious add on!

Last time there was a seller, component with tweeter at 100 bucks, 6.5inch. Anything bigger than that i think cannot fit.
For sub, i also budget, end up get a second hat one at 110 dunno what brand. Can't remember. For those that want to add sub, can conside the Blanpunk that is in the seller corner right now..
Ya picanto use active sub enuff liaoz, no need spend so much la

Hi guys, Just started abit of my ICE on my pica yesterday. 1) Head unit change to Apline 2) Front speaker change to Helix with tweeter X2 3) 1 channel Amp got back from my last ride in the states to drive the front speaker. Mounted below the front passenger seat. 4) Sound proofing both front doors. The damage burst my budget set at $800 to $11XX. Thou I spent abit more, I love the sound quality and is consider good for my ear. For the bass, the punch is there but not too long. Is short and sharp. I have a friend who had installed high end Helix speakers on his ride. Qty:02 amp to drive. Any many more. He dun have a sub yet I can feel the powerful bass. Planning to follow his way of installing but now I am satisfied with the current set up. If i want, i wild like to add in an active sub below my seat. Think will be perfect for my ride. If I choose his way, I may need abt min $1k or more to be like his 1/2 standard. I know why so many people say it is addictive. You will know the answer after you have listen to the crystal clear voices from the singer. Trust me....... If anyone interest, you can proceed down to Sin Ming Rd AMtech Building. The shop name is Autoimage. I am not working there nor know the boss at first. Is my friend who brought me to the shop. The boss (Ted) is friendly. You tell him what requirement you wanted. Etc the song you usually played and listening to. He will advise you from there. Lastly, the prices of any component in the market are there already. Is those bits and pieces of cables here and there are the killers. Is you die from there......

This is not important to me. Sometime I can drive without music. I would prefer to spend $$$ on maintenance because of safety issue.
