Hi guys, The fc of my car increase from ard 12.5km/L to ard 10km/L after I service my car. I changed to synthetic during the servicing. I thought changing to synthetic engine oil will improve fc. Is there something wrong? BTW mine is a manual EX. Thanks in advance!

I dunno whether if u serviced at C&C but the LAST time I serviced at C&C, the engine oil they pour in is way above the 'F' level of the dip stick...making my engine sluggish and higher fuel consumption...so that was really the LAST time I serviced with them...

Cyberalex is correct. first of all, i was told from huat lee from kaki bukit autobay who specialise in servicing korean n japanese car dat forte n avante engine uses SAE 5-30W instead of 40W. n normally our engine oil is top up the most to 3/4 full. track car top up to 1/2 full only. the last time wen i use fully synthetic for my 10k service from CNC, car is sluggish n engine is heavy n FC drop from 11km to 10km/lit(driving style is heavy footed, unichip, drop in n straight thru exhaust). Jus went for my 18k service at huat lee as cannot tahan the drag n the noise of engine n high fuel consumption of 10km/lit...jus top up my first full tank today after service n calculation show 11.8km/lit(travel 580km for 48litres).they did n engine flush as i change to motul brand n they adjusted my accelerator cable for me n the car now is featherlite...anyway the engine oil i use is VERUSPEED Competition 2046E MOTUL...this oil is highest end(so more ex lor) for motul oil n is very suitable for manual car as wen u free wheel, the car jus go on n on they oso told me my gearbox oil is too full n help me release some to reduce the pressure in gearbox during hard driving...total damage is 190...im driving EX(M)... jus wanna share my personal experience...

I serviced my car @ CnC using mobil 5w40. If the engine oil is indeed more than the 'F' level, should I go back to Cnc to ask them to drain it (FOC))or can I go to any workshop(need to pay) to drain it? Dun want to void the 5 years warranty given by CnC so LL must go back to them.
Cort05 so what is average fc now(how many % city & % highway)? Thanks for the reply guys. Cheers!

U can try outside workshops...just ask them to use a vacuum machine for sucking oil out from the dip stick opening...if those $$$ orientated workshops they sure charge u...but this is a super simple service...won't void warranty...even if drain from the drain plug...no worries

Cheers! erm mine is about 30% city n 70% highway...as i jus top up my first full tank after service, need to monitor again for my 2nd tank...n for now as i stated in my previous reply, my fc improve from 10 to about 11-12km/lit...but will take at least average 3 to 4 top up to have a more accurate estimation...

THanks mine is road tune so got no solid figures to show black n white...but one of the improvement i feel is that after unichip, my manual ex can now climb multi storey car park at 2nd gear smoothly without engine jerking compare to last time...for me, no doubt about it that feel of power is definitely significant after n before tuning.

Agreed, car will vibrate a lot if I go up multi storey with slow speed. Contemplating if I should go for unichip. How much did u paid for it?

I also notice that driving up the multistory car park in 2nd gear is a lousy experience. anyway i am driving the manual SX version and my fuel consumption is 12.7 km per litre. but thanks about the engine oil and gear box oil being too full thingy. I am going to tell them to not fill it to the brim.

For me my car is more like a interest rather than jus a form of transport. asking me to wait 3 years den i can start to play with it is really too long...anyway the warranty doesnt cover everything n given the service attitude from CNC, workmanship, waiting time (have to take leave everytime), it will kill me jus having the tout to let them rape my babe for the next 3 years... one of the service co-ordinator told me they can void my warranty if anythg happen to my suspension or coilover jus bcos i change rims n bcos i have change my rims, they cant do wheel alignment for me unless i switch back to the original rims

Wat!! They will void the warranty for suspension just by changing rims.....? OMG. Unichip is plug and play right? So can take out when we go for serving and it will be back to stock setting?

Change rims will void warranty of suspension? If they say this to me i sure shoot them back with...'if change driver, whole car warranty void also?' c&c really sucks man...to the core haha

The last time i try to DIY, I FRIED my 2month old unichip n bought a 2nd hand one...

I went to a car mechanic seeking advise to what causes the increase in FC, engine oil is @ the 'full' mark so the other possible reason could be that i am using 5w40 which is a thicker oil thus more energy is needed to push the pistons which in return contribute to the increase in FC. unchip need to cut any wire?
