5W 40 Engine Oil should be just right. Just change my Engine Oil to 5W-40 also, i did mine at Bro Whitesnail garage. I add in the OWS Engine Protector ($25) bought elsewhere, to keep my engine in better condition.

Any brand of fully synthetic 5w40 is good enough but after 4 months later, you will not feel a smooth ride. I usually change every 4 - 5 months. Sometime will go JB just to change EO (bring my own) and filter ( used their - original) at RM$40. We do not really need to take up EO servicing package (cost about $90 - $140) every time unless you do not know/maintain your car well. I will only take the package once a year to check major parts.

5w30 and 5w40 is only a bit diff. For newer car which run less than 30k are advise to use 5w30, but still up to individual like Rick prefer using 5w20.

Amosil, Redline 5w40 is good (using Redline now). i find Redline a bit thicker. Amsoil is more smooth but feel less protection both is good oil! but i may use back Amsoil, still considering

I wanted to get Amsoil (never try before) but no stock. Amsoil and Mobil 1 is almost the same price. The best is still Motul but very x Read review of Schaeffer 9000 5w30 is above average - 7/10 I will be changing Motul in 2 weeks time and Schaeffer 9000 5w30 is just to keep it for this year end servicing (change in JB and pay S$20 for labour with oil filter). No problem if you want to change from w40 to w30 but get a better EO. Dun get cheap cheap one and turn out more harm to the 1.1 engine. For w20 is very thin and engine is noise too. You will also need to check EO level because it will dry easily when it is very hot (Not suitable for those travel a lot). Best is still w30 & w40

I hv a friend who is bloody anal and he says that schaeffer 9000 rocks . Honestly , I believe him . Though I must admit I hv not tried it just yet. He drives a 92" mx5 so I assume it's better for the more mature engines !

Schaeffer EO got 2 type - 7000 (synthetic) and 9000 (fully synthetic). Your friend tried which one? By the way w20 or w30 and even w40 is not suitable for 92' MX5 (old old car). That why it's rock. Schaeffer 7000 (synthetic) is $8.50 and 9000 (fully synthetic) is $11. Minimum 6 bots but can mix and match. I can give you the contact if you want. I am also a buyer not a seller. All EO serve the same purpose. Cheaper EO less protection and ... ... Can refer the previous post from stanboy81 I tried carlube 5w30 once on my 1.1 pica and the performance is terrible after 2000km. If you have one, just try it yourself for about 1000k (treat it as a cleansing and flushing lor) For example, which grade of petrol do you pump 92, 95 or 98? Some ppl will go for Bossini, some would prefer Levi's and other go for Boss.
