Many thanks to joey and team for recovering my ride.
I'm the picanto with the lemon fuel pump.
Thanks Edric for getting my engine bay cleaned up. I will observe and update if it gets dirty fast again(why so fast?)...
I have some observations and feedback, which i hope the team will take into considerations.
1) Collection of ride was rather straightforward. I personally felt that it would be good if there is a technical brief on the repair process, what was changed and testing of repaired job, during the handing over of vehicle. This was absent, till my request.
I'm sure u all already tested before hand many many times. But owner would be more assured and relieved in this way:)
2) Checking of electronic components after battery change. I believe there was a thorough check, but the headunit was missed out. After driving to Caltex further down Jurong Port Rd, i discovered i can't powered on my HU. It might be time consuming for the owner, less the pain, doubts and anxiety on the state of the HU.. For me i'm okay, but others might not be..
I managed to solve the issue by removing the fuse to the HU in the fuse relay box, wait 20 secs, and plugged it back. Viola, HU working fine. In the process, dunno drop the fuse to where and have to fumble for it..
3) Fuel Pump Relay and Fuse. During the replacement of the fuel pump relay, checks on the fuel pump fuse was missed. I was using 15A instead of 10A temporary to counter the fuse blow issue, to move the vehicle to a less obstructing place during random engine stalling. This was resolved promptly after i alerted the mechanic. Kudos:)
Overall, i'm rather satisfied with the repair time taken and immediate actions taken during my breakdown. If the above 3 points are taken into considerations, it will be even better!! Will be super satisfied.!!!
Last but not least, Joey, i've got a technical qn to ask. After changing the fuel pump and batt, i can feel that my ride is less powerful, compare to before.
Is it because of the ECU relearning the fuel injection variables and ratio? Mine is QFed, but the car suddenly feel like non QFed. Even my CO sitting beside me commented on the loss of power..
Pls tell me i dun need to make a trip down for the power lose issue...!
Hope to hear from u soon and once again, thanks for the job well done.
