Recently, i juz upgraded my 13 in stock rim to 15 in sport rim.
After changing i realised that my rim is a bit protruding out sideways from the car.
I remember for car inspection the wheel cannot be protruding laterally.
Want to ask:
1) Is it normal that when upgrading to 15 in rim, it will protrude out a little bit?
2) What is your rim width?
3) Any brother with 15 in rim that protrude out encounter any problem when sending for vehicle inspection?
4) Anyway, my rim width is 6.5. Is this the minimum width in the market for 15 in rim
Anyone can share your experience?
Much appreciated.

i juz check my ride.
The front tire seem to protrude out about 1.5-2cm.
Wondering whether it is because my rim rim width 6.5in is too wide, that why protrude out much.
Hopefully will not have any probelm with inspection.
Anyone, whose rim is also 6.5in width?
Anyway my tire profile is 165/50/r15

I didnt pay attention to the offset when i install it.
Now I cannot see it as the wheel is already on the car.
If i didnt rem wrongly, it think it is 45

Picanto uses 15" x 5 PCD100 rims with Falken ST115 165/50R15 tyres.(federal tyres also have the same size too) Almost all rims seller carry 15" x6.5 as very common.By & large to use 195/45/R15 is stable but oversize for a 1.1litre so slower pick up and burn more fuel:) IMO I using this rim size wont protrude out and lower the coilover all the way w/o hitting the fender on the rear wheel arc

How much the wheel protrudes depends on the wheel offset. My wheels offset is +38 and it is protruding out by just abit. If your wheel offset range from +45 to +38, it should be ok.

I just changed to 15" x 6 using Hankook Optimo 175/55/R15. Although the rims do protrude a bit, but the tyres are flush with the side of the car. Hankook says it fits perfectly. Haven't monitored FC since but very happy cos the tyres are so quiet and the ride more comfortable. Don't feel so the road bumps and holes so obvious now. Also, the price is good, no need to spend a bomb on Jap tyres! Think is better than 195/45 tyres as I was told 195/45 don't hv quiet and comfortable tyres. Just my sharing.

Hankook at Kaki Bukit branch. Very friendly staff there. Can also call head office at Toh Guan if you are in the west side. Head office shld be able to tell u whether got stk at each branch or give you the tel no to call. Hankook also has a Woodlands and Joo Chiat branch (if i not wrong) but the Pasir Panjang branch is closed liao. If you opt for the 14" K415 (think is 165/60/14 or something similar), they are really cheap like $80 ea only.
