Just want to find out about the FC for the 1.4M Rio. Currently using Mobil 95. About 497km, close to E then I pump up. ~38.56L... around 15km/L... Manual says 5.6L/100km, which sums up to 17.85km/L...!!! So much difference? My OD is around 1960 at the moment... Don't know if FC will improve after changing to synthetic oil. Current mod, Pmax and 5pt grounding. Installing SJ-CAI, change to alloy rims and sports exhaust in future... hopefully can improve the FC...

hmm..its all depends on the user ba..and not forgetting the manual will definitely state a higher FC than what is the actual FC..cos the way they calculate the FC is purely based on highway driving..not those traffic that you will see in singapore lar..
i used to also calculate the FC for my Rio too..but then afterall, its how much you wan to step the accelerator..jus drive safely..
cheers..

bro, if u can get 15km/L... its very very very good le...esp for a rio 1.4... ur fc is an envy of many many rio owners... dun make us more jealous..... haha....
17.85km/L is based on korean reading/testing... u ever see how they test? long straight road..no traffic.... clean air... no extra load... constant fifth gear... how to be same as them??
remember... dun lost in the world of chasing fc... in the end, u spend more to reach the 'wanted' fc but never still cun rch...
drive happily, moderate speed... n enjoy the Power to Surprise.... haha..

Cos I doing 'run in'... Still haven't reach 5000km yet... So step very light on my accelerator... A bit sianz, cos' everytime keep to left lane, still ganna cut by cars, vans, buses!! Overall, I find that keeping light-footed and reaching 5th gear as often will help in saving fuel. I also removed my spare tyre... lol... That's in the past. Now, I follow what bro MindBox33 mentioned... Just drive and don't bother too much...lol. Fed up.. the other time, I was keeping left lane, ganna high beam by a bus!! Angry, so I zoomed and overtake him, then slow down in front of him... The car feels more responsive in the higher gears, lower end, our car loses out siah... Hopefully the SJ-CAI helps at least 30% in the low end torque... My old ride (92 civic ESI manual) was around 10.5km/L... a lot of difference compared to now.. lol.. power, FC... No regrets in changing to this car.. less chance of being stopped by TP and no one bothers to disturb me on the road...

just for rough comparison, although the different driving style and route plays main role. mine 1.4M driving 70%HW, 30% city, 100% aircon on.

Anyone knows if our car's a/c compressor fitted locally of at the factory? I noticed my a/c doesn't cut off at all. What happens is when you turn the temperature knob to a higher temperature, it'll mixes hot air with the cold instead of cutting off. Switch off the AC and hot air will be blowing after a while.
I'm going to bug the service center for an answer as this won't be good for the fuel consumption.

if it is locally fitted, the contractor has not done the wiring correctly. not sure wat cnc will do.
if its a factory unit, will kacau them until they can fix up the thermostat.

my aircon had changed recently at CNC. it blasted off 1 week before warranty expires, luckily.
previously it used to cut off regularly. example, at fan setting 1, its like 14 sec off- 14 sec on, then at fan setting 2 it is 9 sec off- 14 sec on.
but after CNC changed aircon compressor, it is always on. i went back there to let them rectify, they top up gas, and it cut off sometimes, but not at regular timing. thats why i recorded at fuel chart. it will definitely consume more petrol.
one cheap thing about rio is, the compressor cut off is not by thermostat. it is by gas pressure. no matter how hot the temperature u set, it will still not save fuel. the warmer temperature we set actually is, letting engine coolent flow in to heater radiator inside the fan coil, while aircon is running at the same rate. It is the mechanism for the older cars or the cars without automatic climate control.
now since CNC not solve the thing for me, and dun want to go there anymore, i have just to live with it lor... turn off manually sometimes till warm, then on again.

human thermostat...best sensor of all. your fc is pretty good, i'm driving the 1.4m as well and the best so far is 13.8km/l.
i've booked the appointment with them. the customer service adviser told me the aircon is indeed a locally fitted unit. the contractors will need to come down to rectify if there is a problem, hope i don't have to leave the car overnight though. will update when its done.

The FC u guys get is already super good liao le.. dunno y still wan to discuss this sia.. those figures u guys posted sounds like FJC low end FC already.. tink no complain liao, korean ride, wat more u wan.. air con hot air? no problem for me.. 60+ L? Your Rio got reserve tank de ah.. hahahaha.... but seriously, FC, how to make sure the way u calculate is accurate sia? Reali reali impress by all the FC here... if i can improve to a 11 to 12, i tink good for me le.... not tinking of 13 or 14 -_-

60+ L? Your Rio got reserve tank de ah.. hahahaha.... but seriously, FC, how to make sure the way u calculate is accurate sia? I counted only when the time i filled up to the brim... so, whenever i pumped few liters, or not to brim, i combined the number of liters to the next pump till brim, so that it can be more accurate. thats why some are more than 45L... if counting with auto stop by pump cannot be accurate, thats why i pumped to brim. also counting over a long period gives better figure.
