Hi, I am new to this thread, just like to wish all brothers and sisters A Very Happy Merry Christmas.
BTW I saw Hyundai Avante manual is selling $40,999 while Kia Cerato Variant 2 now 42,999, usually hyundai price higher than Kia, but not this time, any idea ? So for cerato's owners, how is the car performance as compare to hyundai avante ? as I will be getting one soon. Any advise ?
Spoken to the SE from ubi by the name of Mok was such a nice guy, honest and really got a lot of patience to attend to me.
Anyway thank you so much

Anyway thank you so much Although I'm a V2 owner, wld advise u to go for the Avante if u taking only the manual version as it's quieter with sound clad and tuff kote added.Furthermore with it's much nicer dash design and modern body,V2 is dated. If it's auto if u wan, gt the V2 for it's manual overide transmission! Re-test drive both V2 and Avante manual to feel the difference for yrself!

If manual, definately will recomm u go for Avante. It's lighter than V2, FC oso slightly better. Oso not forgetting as wat bro ceratov2m mentioned, the dash oso more fashio & look more cool than V2.
But really wondering how come sell cheaper than V2 huh?? Grrr.....

Overall the Avante looks more sexy with its nice design. The V2 looks great but its design does not make it stand out when compared to Toyota Altis, or Honda Civic. I have walked to "my" car on several occasions only to realise it was a Toyota or Honda due to the chrome grill. But on features, the V2 beats the Avante. Also, I find the V2 quieter too especially when cruising on the expressway.
In reality, these 2 cars are marketed in the same range in Korea. The reason why Avante cost more is because Hyundai is more popular here, hence the agent can command a higher price. But with the recent special offers going on, invariably it is possible that the Hyundai agent may be trying to clear excess stock.

If you are not one of those hotrods ramming ahead of the pack, the heavier weight actually contribute to the stability although FC suffers. In anycase, on occasion when I need to ram ahead the car does deliver. You just need to let go the accelerator momentarily and then ram hard. But all that fuel being burnt when you do that!...

Interesting video, but I must say this is not a very fair comparison.
The Volvo 940 estate was introduced in 1991, and was essentially a cosmetic reskinning of the Volvo 740 (which was design in 1985).
On the other hand, the Renault Modus was introduced in Sep 2004.
For a period of close to 20 years, a lot of design improvement, new technologies must have definitely evolved. So I strongly don’t think it’s a fair comparison just because of the weight of Volvo is heavier than Renault Modus.
If base purely on physic, should there be a crash between two cars with the same speed, technology, etc the one with the heavier weight will definitely have an advantage over the lighter one

Of all 4 points u've mentioned, Avante sweep all 3 points with FC, performance and $$ if u like V2 euro design but somehow or rather, I feel it still belonged to previous era of Lancer GLXi and Nissan Sunny N16 era of design.
