Yesterday, I went to a car audio workshop to install a sub-woofer, amplifier and component speakers. After everything has been installed, the technician tried to test the installation. To my horror, the A/C failed, water-temperature gauge and the RPM meter do not read at all! He tried everything he could, even calling people down, to rectify the problem but to no avail. In the end, he told me to go back to KIA service center to fix the problem. Does anyone know whether KIA will void the warranty because of this?

Have you checked the necessary fuses, wiring and relays?

the mechanic has checked everything he could, including all wiring and relays but could not rectify the problem. he has said he'll bear the cost though. yeah man, i'm prepared to loose the warranty.. a check with one workshop earlier today, the mechanic told me the ECU might have failed or short-circuited from the installation of the speaker system. shaking his head, 'new car got this problem...' just my luck man.. thanks for viewing, fellas.

Maybe u would like to try resetting yr ECU 1st. Pluck out the ECU fuses from both the interior and engine bay fuse box, wait for abt 10 sec and put it back to see if it works.

Hmmm.. ECU failed.. But there was not any connection to ECU right? Mostly are just to power and earth... Anyway, can try C&C to have a replacement ECU.. Our bro LMF got this prob sometime ago, and got a new ECU already... Prob solved...

Might be the ICE installation short-circuit the fuse which blown ur ECU. I'd my ICE done nicely, w/o failing in anything. Try call Joey fr Harmony motor see if he can help to check if ur ECU really failed to work. Else juz follow wat other bros said, go bk cycle then act blur lo...

Yah act blur the best. Of course be sure your ICE installer fix everything properly. If not they find out sure say your fault. Better still remove your amp that uses the power from battery then send back to C&C. They cant fault you if you only install speakers.

My car has been fixed at no charge from C&C. I was told loose connectors which caused short-circuited the system, were the culprits. No other reason was given by the kia mechanic. He sounded impatient to explain the faults... Anyway, I guess the installer unknowingly caused some of the connectors to be pulled out of the sockets when he tried to lay the power line from the battery to the amp. When I went back to him on Sat, he installed the internal radio antenna FOC (disabled the electronic antenna). So I only paid for the speakers, amp and woofer..

Hi sss3304, How did the mech rectified the problem? U mean the kia mech? He didn't say much. Just told me the loose connectors were reconnected and that solved the problem..
