So far driving for 3.5years no problem with engaging gear. How old is ur ride? Probably if it 's still under warranty can go back to C&C to rectify the problem.

Juz clutch in fully b4 engage the reverse gear. If not clutch fully, it'll b harder to get it engage in position + u'll hear some gear rubbing sound.

Ya some times tat problem exist although you already fully step on the clutch. What you need to do is to hold the gear nob at reverse positiion dun let go and start reversing. at this point the gear would already engage rather than you hear the gear sound.

Yes do have that problem at the start, but after a while once you get the feel to engage it, then its ok already. Just that sometimes it occurs. I went to C&C to have them check it but still the same. They said there were no problems.

i noticed tht engaging reverse gear whilst car is rolling (forwards or backwards) results in gearbox crunching sound.
dont seem to get the sound if my car is completely stationary before engaging reverse.

Hi, does anyone have problem engaging to reverse gear for manual transmission? Hi thompson, I also encountered the same problem till now after 3 yrs and one thing you may want to try is to stop the car completely first and delay a while before engaging the reverse gear because it works well for me.

Yeah, I agree. Last week I tried playing around with reverse gear on my friend's Cerato, I have no problem engaging it when I try your method. I should be getting my ride next week ;D
