Think I will really consider removing the spare tyre from the boot.... not sure whether I will be able to change it when I really need it! haa.... By the way, any idea how much weight the Picanto's spare tyre is?

I don't think you will get your tyre punctured in Singapore roads. One thing for sure, you must prepare a spare tyre when driving in Malaysia. I've seen tyres bursting right infront of me, and got my share of punctures as well. Of course, new tubeless tyres can tahan a nail inside for quite a long distance.. but some stuff like steel rods can just release air a lot faster than nails/screws.

I never puncture my tyre before even driving on broken roads and construction sites. Anyway, it depends on your luck. But tyre bursting does not necessary implies that the car has hit a nail, steel or sharp objects. Sometimes, it is due to the pressure and heat inside the tyre. If the workshop fails to take notice of your tyre material and structure, it will burst on high speed.
