Hi Guys, I'm going for my 10k servicing on Friday & would like to know if I'm suppose to change my ATF. I'm not going to be doing in C&C as the cost is too high, sending it to STAR Portsdown.

Thanks Guys, Sorry, didn't make myself clear. I'm going for my 10k servicing, my car is only 5 mths old. Should I be flushing or just change the ATF?

I chg my ATF at abt 30K. The reason was because when parking the car, I switch from D to R, I can feel the car jerk. So got the technician to check on the ATF oil. At first, they also tell me 40K la. but later they call me & say need to chg. Pay about $110 to chg the ATF oil.

zul, usually they will just drain abt 4l and topup again. But got advice frm harmony motor to do total flushing when the oil has become brown(should b red). full flush is more costly at $230++. Normal change is much cheaper...
ATF info extract from Harmony Motor website: Auto-Trans Fluid are 'kept' in the Transmission mainly at 2 different places: Oil Sump and Torque Converter. Each has the capacity of about 50% of the total fluid. In the Drain/Fill method, only those fluid from the Oil Sump will be drain out to the transmission. Therefore, you will only change 50% of the total fluid. This method is better termed as Dilution. You cannot run the engine and drain off the fluid at the same time as a 'dry' transmission will burn off the clutch easily.
For Flushing Method, the old fluid is being let out of the transmission and simultaneously, new fluid are being pumped into the transmission. This way, you will be able to change 100% of the fluid. This method is better as the transmission runs, it will bring the contaminants out the transmission as well. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Unless u'r gg to change to fully syn type of ATF, else if use bk original type dun think u needa flush. Another way to prolong ur ATF lifespan is to add an oil cooler. The weather @ sg is super hot, so the lifespan might not b as last as per manual stated.

Thanks guys for the info ......I was told a "healthy" ATF should be red or pinkish and once it turned brownish...it's time for a ATF change. Need to correct something here.... Sorry bro... The ATF is Pinkish/red is due to the dye... the dye will gone after sometime... brownish is still ok.... but change it when it turn slightly black. To check ATF... you must do it after you drive, after you park your car, dun stop the engine, take the oil level while engine is idling, they are gauge on the dip stick, look at the upper one, thats for engine "warm" check. For info, my mileage reaching 100K and only carry out changing of ATF once. May change when due for next servicing. And one important point, for those CVT engine, the grade of the ATF is difference from the normal one, please do check on your manual before changing. Using different grade of ATF may damage your gearbox. For symptoms for gearbox problem, it will be squirking sound when start, engine vibrates abnormally .... Hopes may help all
