rio will have a better FC if i'm not wrong. cerato itself has a heavier body resulting in higher FC. sometimes gotta give and take.... body heavier, more sturdy, higher fc. body lighter, lesser fc. cerato has a pretty generous leg room for both passengers front and rear.

If you like spaciousness and all the other minor extras, then go for the Cerato. At night when cruising on thehighway at 100km, you can't hear the engine at all! But if consumption is prioity, the manual RIO would be the best.

manual cerato with lightfooted can easily get 12km/l, i am driving the 06 cerato manual stock last time can get 12.5km/l to 13.5km/l now with 16" rims and sport tyre and minor mods here and there still able to get 11.5km/l

What type of FC you get, it all depend on your right foot and driving pattern. For our brother Airconvent, he can get around 12km/litre for his AT Cerato Variant 2 which is very good considering the weight of V2 is heavier than any Japanese car.

If u dun mind addition hand work, then can consider V2 (M). No worry on the clutch as it's super soft (even softer than my picanto). Furthermore manual transmission give u better FC. My wife's V2 is achieving 12+ click on average drive. The engine is smooth & cabin is quiet. Even my uncle considering to trade in his 3yrs Lancer GLX for V2.
But if u can wait, the new Avante (M) is reaching sg shore soon. It'll b another gd consideration ride as it's lighter than V2, hence should achieve better FC.

But isn't Avante cost ard $8000 more than Cerato? And yes, Cerato is about 90kg more but the price diff is the reason why I got my Cerato instead... ;D So far, I think that Cerato is really value for $$ and cheapest among the others in the market!

The lastest Avante (M) is $47k. So it's ard 4k more than V2. No digital a/c, single driver airbag, steel rim, fabric seat.

My V2 first 3 tanks quite reasonable as its till running with mineral EO...
1st - 9.6km/L 2nd - 10.2km/L 3rd - 10.8km/L
Think when time to change to fully-syn EO, will also change spark plug to iridium and see if will get better FC... but will be changing shoes to 17" and think FC might jus drop back... ;D
