Hi Joey, I'm driving a variant 2 auto, recently after parking the car I accidently ( reverse to neutral ) without pressing the shift lock. Would this have damaged my transmission.
Another question, is it safe to shift between N & D without pressing the shift lock?
Thanks in advance Bro!

The equipment is a simple pin locking the Shifter from moving. If you can push the Shifter without pressing the button, it means that it is safe to change from position A - B. However, if the Shifter is locked, that means that position A - B is dangerous and thus you need to press the button to confirm your intention. Shift Lock will not harm the Transmission. However, do not change the Gear when the car is still in motion (for P, N, R and D). It may cause the gear to crash and not good for it. Thanks and safe driving. Joey Lim 9636 9151
