1st tankful
52 litres got me 624km (pump quantity vs distance travelled)
FC = 12km/l
FC meter shows 8.0l / 100km (which equate to 12.5km/l), pretty accurate
70% expressway.

Hi gkoh,
I believe the FC will reduce drastically in heavy stop start traffic. The magentis is not lightweight..
The comfort and price more than makes up for it.

At 12km/L, Magentis seems to be doing much better than any so-called VVTi. Know of many Camry can't even get close to 12km/L. Interestingly Camry is significantly lighter than Magentis although it might look big, quite typical of Toyota design making big-looking car with less material than others. Except its heavier but fuel-drinking Lexus which might have its VVTi logo taken away recently.
Maybe some people think the VVTi logo has some kind of fuel saving magic.

Second tank doesn't do as well as the first tank as travel pattern changed.
606km on 53.7l of petrol. 11.3km/l
40% Espressway 60% normal roads. I'm happy with the fuel consumption so far.

I've recently switched from 95 to 92 since Caltex reintroduced 92octane petrol.
Engine oil is fully synthetic from C&C service centre.
Some of my driving habits may contribute to lower fuel consumption:
1) discreet use of air-conditioning for eg, nights or cooler weather, air condition may only be turned on 40% of the time. Aircon is used to dehumidify rather than cool.
2) turn off aircon if I wanted faster getaway at the lights or on a uphill slope.
3) Over inflate tyres by around 30N/msq
4) Gentle acceleration from standstill (not too slow to be a road hog)
5) If possible, choose routes that are the smoothest rather than go on a shorter route with tons of traffic lights.

I think the post-2006 Magentis has better FC. My 2005 model still giving me 10.5-11 after almost 4 years. I add 30ml of CA-40 ( www.ca40g.com/home.php ) before pouring every 60L of 92. Engine smooth and quiet. No 98 can give this feel.

I can't join tonight.
Just got the rear view mirror replaced under warranty at C&C service centre. Overall satisfied with C&C Pandan service.
Might stick to them after warranty expires.
