Hi fellow forummers,
Just took over a 06 magentis.
Found a few issues.
1) Throttle paddle feel is jerky, probably need a good greasing.
2) Brakes are sudden and lack progressive feel.
3) Suspension feel can be jerky at times, especially over bumps and potholes on the road.
If I were to arrange a check up with C&C service centre, will they be willing to treat the above symptoms as warranty claims issue?
Thanks alot.

bro didnt u go for test drive before u took over. Anyway suspension jerky could be a sign of worn off / leaky shock absorbers... but the old and i think the new mags are known for soft suspension a-la european cars, a trade off for a more comfy ride. if its leaky aborbers cnc will not cover cos its wear and tear and yr previous owner could have roughed it out in places like m'sia where potholes and rough roads are common... i think lets look at how much mileage it had when u took over... 40k? 50K miles? try to push down yr ride from each corners and see how it bounces back to indicate if the aborbers are ok... all d best! Oh 1 more thing... check to confirm dat yr tires are indeed of correct specs (ratings)... my old mag when i first bought i got tires that were under-specs and only realised when drove till 20K then i went to cnc complained to them and they changed for me free, with inspecton and assurance that my suspension was ok... but of course they will say that. now my absorbers all gotta change soon at 75K.

Hi blastwave,
Thanks for the information.
The suspensions were now ok after I checked and re-adjusted the tire pressure to specification.
My magentis has almost 43000km on the clocks.
Where did you go for your shock absorber change? Did you go back to C&C, or go to spare part stockist for the shock and get mechanic to install for you?
Or is there other recommended aftermarket brands that provides better ride quality?
Thanks,

i go to a hyundai stockist and looked for sonata absorbers then i went to sebs auto at ubi. my old mag is mechanically same as sonata. so i can use all sonata parts under the hood and the underbelly. the hyundai sonata stock parts are cheaper than the kia mag. I dont know why the kia is expensive than the hyundai when they are essentially the same parts, but maybe because the kia went thru double marketting. All these tips came from bro Hattee, our expert. he knows the car inside out.

There is a Kia stockist located in Jalan Besar area. Along the HDB shophouses just before Esso petrol station in the direction towards East.
Kia parts are sold at a very reasonable price there. The name is Fong Yatt.
