Hi Joey, Just went to do Air Con Servicing. Change the filter, top up gas & they add a bottle of stuff, they said it to protect the compressor. But after the servicing whenever I drive with my A/C on and stop stationary, I will hear a erm sound. but if i turn off my aircon, the sound is gone.
Not Sure is it any problem? My 2nd hand OPC Pica been giving me a bit here and there problem since I bought dec 08.

We do Flushing of Aircon System only with an Aircon Flushing Machine. It will extract out all the Aircon Freon Gas, Vacuum for 30 mins, inject new gas for flushing, vacuum again, then inject fresh Freon gas and Lubricant at the correct weight. I suspect the Lubricant used is not the correct grade that will cause the Compressor to hume. Please allow us to take a look at it to ascertain the problem thanks and safe driving. Joey Lim

In fact it is not expensive. My machine already cost me $12,000. The maintenance fee is also very high. There are very few machine of this type in the market, I think it is because of the low profit margin. Also, 'clever' business man will rather wait for your Aircon system to have problem and do repair for you. The profit is always much higher. Thanks and safe driving. Joey Lim

If your aircon system is old, I will recommend to change not only the compressor but the Filter/Drier. Or else the dirt will still be contain within the system and it will knock out earlier.
I do recommend that the Aircon Lub be flush out too. I will quote you with and without these 'extras'.
Only changing Compressor and recharge gas: $380.00 + GST
With Filter/Drier and Flushing: $500 + GST.
Thanks and safe driving.

Hi Joey,
Im driving a Picanto Auto.
Many Bros in the forum says tt the picanto does not come with an aircon thermostat and the compressor keeps blowing aircon and the temp of the aircon is regulated by mixing cold air with hot air.
Is this true that our pica does not have a thermostat?

Every Aircon System have a way of controlling the ambient temperature. By: Expansion Valve, Block Valve, Thermister, Thermostat (signal amplifier and sender), etc.
What you have mentioned is call Climate control. It is a system of controlling the ambient temperature by opening the lourves to the heater coil. This system is more for temperate climate but is installed in most modern car. Even though, it still have a thermister.
A Thermister send the signal directly to the Climate Control Unit, which in most case is part of the ECU. The ECU will cut off the Compressor or open the lourve depending on the design by the Engineer. There are also some new feature in the Compressor where is will not stop operation but reduces the compression.
Thanks and safe driving.

What is the purpose of installing this Thermostat?
To be able to regulate the temperature yourself? You already have a temperature adjustment knob, right?
To cut off the Compressor? The built in Thermister is already doing this job.
To be able to control the cut off manually? Just turn off the Aircon lah.
To automate the cut off of compressor instead of using the Hot Air to mix and regulate the temperature? Ah, this may be a more realistic request. But how often you need to cut it off?
I can't recommend and decide for you. If it is me, I would study into the system more and understand before trying to change the design set up.
Thanks and safe driving.
