For me, if purely aesthetics I'd go for 3 black face Defi-lookalike gauges.. Like prosport or KET as the ones in the vendor's thread(coconutskinauto).. Water Temp Volt Vaccuum But if ure the kind who does hard driving all the time, I'll add these two; Oil Pressure Oil Temp

reason for installing gauges think to look more sporty... most common ones installed are: Volt, Water Temp and Vacuum... Volt = to monitor the battery progress... Water Temp= to monitor the boiling point of the coolant (water) or to monitor whether the car's cooling system is workin properly... Vacuum = think its for fun...

Install gauge confirm void warranty. This question has surfaced many times. Thats why many opted for Scangauge II which does not need to add additional wiring.
My gauges: - Analog Water Temp and vacuum (Smoke screen with red lighting) - Digital voltmeter also with red light.

Juz called the technical ppl as refer by my SE.
The person say depend on how it is done. If the pipes is cut to install your own sensor, it might void the warranty.
He also knows that picanto does not have a water temp gauge. He mentioned that a few cars who went for servicing also have the water temp guage installed but never report any prob. But if there is any leakage etc, it will void the warranty.
Therefore after installing, if no prob = no void of warranty if got prob = void of warranty.
He also mentioned that some car can't claim the warranty becuz of modification was ask to remove all the mod and do back the original to claim the warranty.
He even say that any cut of wire, additional of lights actually will also void the warranty. eg, it u find ur car no enough power, they will blame it on the light and mod your have done. And they will charge for the diagnose report.

i m using the scangaugeII.... it provides many types of digital readings directly from the OBD port.. which i personally feel is more accurate than the analog-dial gauges... nonetheless, it is still up to individual's likings..

Smoke screen meaning when you off you will not see anything. Only black colour. Those with colour background when off still can see needle and other stuff.

I believe Scangauge II is more than enough. Installing of gauges will just make your dashboard outstanding.

A voltmeter is more than enough, for monitoring your car voltage. Other than that, it's just cosmetics as mentioned by Andrew.

usually 3 meters... then installed either at centre of dashboard, or at the top at driver's side, or at the right side on the column. you should go see photos posted in this forum by pica drivers, then get more ideas from there.
but i think MUST install the Vacuum gauge. Erm, dunno what it does exactly, but the pointer in it moves quite frequently as and when you step/release the accelerator. haha... gauges are for asthestic use la...
