After market front rotors + pads and rear pads available.
Front => DBA (Rotors), EBC (Rotors + Pads), Bendix(Pads), Mintex(Pads), Ferodo(Pads)
Rear => Bendix(Pads), Mintex(Pads), Ferodo(Pads)
OEM rear pads => $55
I'm now on EBC Rotors & Greenstuff pads(front) and OEM rotors with Bendix Metal King pads(rear). There are some improvements to braking but brakes(EBC Front) will squeal when warmed up....

EBC don't seem to have a local agent, tried contacting a few all ask me to wait for quote and never got back. So I got my EBCs when I was on holiday.
The Bendix rear pads I got it from the local agent. Ferodo & Mintex can also be purchased from local agents.

ok here is the feedback from the OEM replacement ... a lot of improvement over the OEM went first bought the car ... the shitty smell from hard braking is also very much less than the first pads ...

side track abit, y pump nitrogen into the tires? Which type are you using? nitrogen is an inert gas ... when combine in 2:1 ratio with oxygen ... it will give you N2O aka nitro gas aka NOS aka laughing gas ... when you inject this NOS gas into the combustion chamber it will enhance the combustion process with extra fuel thus giving you the much needed push on our 1.5T chunk of metal & plastics ... saying that ... putting in the tyres will make the tyres happier and can lead to better mileage and fuel saving ...

You sure you do not have Sh*t below your ride? How can brakes smell like sh*t?

Thot nitrogen gas only good for ballons. But what more can the nitrogen do in a tyre carrying 1.5T of metal & chunks Anyway, back to the main topic, I change my original brake pads some 2 weeks ago. There's some aftermarket ones, which produces hell lots of brake dusts, heard it's not approved by LTA, according to my mechanic.

side track abit, y pump nitrogen into the tires? Which type are you using? The main reason for using Nitrogen is that its an inert gas(as mentioned by Evo), the main benefit is that Nitrogen is much more stable when tyre is under load/stress. Meaning, when the tyre is heated up(due to friction with road, etc) the Nitrogen in your tyre will expand less compare to normal air. Hence, the fluctuation in air pressure is less. (ie. good for track, as too much pressure fluctuations will affect handling and balance of vehicle) Another benefit is that Nitrogen molecules are larger, hence, they will 'leak' less or slower over time. Leak - via various joints(tyre & rim, etc) or through the tyre(rubber) itself. Bernard

(hahaha, this one is super talk cock) Or maybe by pumping enough, to create a slight lifting effect to reduce rolling weight and get better FC? (lagi talk cock ) The ones I changed to have alot less dust compared to OEM, but they SQUEAL(hell lots and loud - I'm on EBC Greenstff pads and sports rotors - front) like bus, truck, lorry when they are warmed up!!!! hahaha....
anyway, i think there is not much diff lah with pumping nitrogen. main reason for me is lesser duration to pump air. before using nitrogen, i pump almost every week to maintain stability and balance. but after pumping nitrogen, i dont need to pump anymore. every month i just go back to stamford tyres to refill.
Refill = FOC

hi all just wan to ask, how do u know when do you need to change ur brake pad? is there any warning indicator? thanks There are no electonic indicators for brake pad wear on the sportage. The easiest way is to ask your mechanic/workshop to check your brakes each time you sent it in for servicing. Another not so accurate but might be indicative method(if you on OEM items) is squealing. For most OEM brakes, they would start to squeal when the brake pads are near the end of their service life. Do a visual check on the pads and disc would still be the best option. You can also DIY, look out for uneven wear on your brake disc(uneven surface like ridges) and take a peek at the pads if the brake pads(braking material) is less then 5mm thick(do not include the backing plate) then its quite thin already.
