Very bad experience at Vim Auto yesterday.
Thursday went to change fan belt at Vims. After that went servicing at Premier Auto. Later that day realise got sound coming from the fan belt area there, when at 2,000-2,100rpm, on every gear.
The next day, friday went to Vim Auto to tell Alex, he convinced me not fan belt problem, but i told him before change no sound leh, he still say not fan belt problem, so ok..
Then i ask him whats is cause of the problem then, he say maybe intake, but i say before this, intake no problem, and he is the one who install it, so he ask me to go back home take my stock intake.
So i went home get it, he change back to stock, still got sound.. So i insist fan belt.. He die die say confirm not and make a deal with me say he will remove the belt and show me not the belt, if he remove it still got sound, confirm not the fan belt fault. And he very confident, then after remove the belt, no sound...
But he still insist not fan belt fault, and wanna fix back the old/ original belt to show me that if fix back confirm got sound come back. Guess what? Fix back no sound. But he still insist not fan belt cause other people change before no problem. But i told him maybe because its not original parts, but he still wanted to change back to the new belt to show me that should not have sound.
By than i have spend 3 hours in his shop, so i tell him dont want to change to new belt just fix the old belt back. Its obvious what, fan belt fault, and he die die say not fan belt. My dad was there and said the same thing also, Alex told us we are not mechanic and we dont know what we talking about and sounded very rude to my dad. He even ask my dad to stop talking as my dad told him, if he dont want to give refund nevermind and dont waste our time, change here, change there when the fault is confirm the fan belt... He said loudly 'Stop, Stop, Stop!!' to my dad in front of two customer as if we have no face at all.
In the end, he change back to the old belt and gives me a refund, after that i go ming ghee, buy the original belt, go Premier Auto, fix it.. And guess what?? No sound.
Never again i will go to Vim Auto.

I have understand the whole situation with Vim Auto and he has help you to solve your fan belt problem out of goodwill without charging you the labour charges spending around 5 hours in total. If you have problem with the fan belt, you should visit a workshop which is specialized on vehicle repair instead of an accessories workshop like Vim Auto, hope you understand. Vim Auto is specialized in Accessories Installation and air-con repair so fault finding on noise issue will require longer time which will be the same even if you visit a repair workshop. If you still need help on your fan belt problem, let me know, thanks. |

And since im there, i ask him to check whether my fan belt is still ok as another mechanic from another ws say its starting to crack. Then when Alex take alook at it, he say he can change it for me so i thought why not... since i been going to his shop for more than 2 years. I trust him.
Secondly, the sound issue came only after the installation of the fan belt at Vim Auto, i keep insisting it is because of the fan belt being non original but he decline the possibility and keep convincing me its not. And in the end it is.
How can you say he help me out of goodwill when the problem itself is cause by the installation of the fan belt, i say its his responsibility.
And by being rude to me and my dad considered goodwill?
My fan belt got no issue/ sound already as i stated that i have changed to an original ones already.

Perhaps, it was a really bz / bad day till each parties lost their cool... but i believe that sometimes with a one off issue like this, maybe we can be forgiving since you have been going there for the past 2 yrs. u got ur refund and use back ur the old belt and buy a new belt and it work.
it is an honest mistake and let move on..
