Nice intake you have there.. You are sure a DIY person. Able to dismantle and reassemble.
BTW, the proboards app can attach photo straight away? Or do you use those photos hosting website?

MK1 #7 Sep 28, 2012 8:25 Mid to high slightly better.Low to mid same.Roaring sound tone down slightly. of cos will tone down... silicone will absorb some of the sound. not all.. Can only buy and fix ownself the minor things.Anything major can't do.. Yup.. normal servicing like changing fluids / oil and those parts which i can change.. me n friends DIY together.. Like timing belt change or big parts.. go workshop...

As long dont require special tools/hoist or adjustment settings like rocker arm, ignition timing etc... The rest can be explored. Quality/proper tools are preferred to avoid damaging of bolts/nuts/screws. Torque wrench is a must for certain areas. Best is a svc manual beside to guide.

I think it's something to be proud of your DIY project. You did yourself and the kind of satisfaction cannot be compared to paying for someone else to do it.
I don't DIY but I clean and wax the car myself. It certainly feels different from going to a car wash.
