Sigh....... I think going to or calling tire shop will go down my memory lane loh. Call 6, 7, or 8 ....... no stock ........ 1 shop said have ........ end up only left 2. Somemore ask me to install 2 first today then the other tomorrow ........ I said you better double confirmed. Dont make me lose face ....... if not I probably chew his head off. At the end ........ no stock ........ I know becos......... I even checked the main disti for Kumho ....... NB...... I think hor ......... they are not bringing in the 205/65/15 profile. At least this is what Tyrepac & Disti told me. The moment I cancel transaction (Boss call for meeting.....heee) ...... they called to check if I am facing difficulty with the online purchase. Tyrepac is really into online business...... So I bought the KH31 from TYREPAC....... heard it is more quiet that the KU31 ...... and I need travel longer distance to work on my new job ........ so better get a cheap and nice tire. Total Cost Per Tire KH31 : $77 + GST + $9 = $91.39 NETT. Want hassle free tires change ........ goto TyrePAC...... or I should keep my finger crossed.......heeeee....... Next week then install.......heeeeeee..... Have you ask Chen Jin Trading? I saw they have stock the last time i visited them... (although quite some time back liao...) Thanks bro ....... Finally, installed a new set of KH31 today. @85kkm
It is an asymmetrical tyre, and it is non-directional.
When install correctly, you should see the big bold word "OUTSIDE" on the tyre. Wonder why not called INSIDE so can hide the word ??
The noise level is surprisingly quiet.... heee compare with the worn out set ....... maybe it is brand new.
Traction wise ........ AWESOME ........ driving through an expressway exit/entry with sharp turn is really a breeze.
As for roll resistance resistance should be much better than previous, my tire no longer look like puncture when pump to the correct pressure.
This set I bought from Tyrepac has a date code of 4511. And 1 tire has the red dot on the inside thread. It is Made in PRC ......... As long it is cheap and it is not a train, I have no problem.
From KIA manual, the lifespan of the tire should be 6 years or less from the date of manufacture as structural degradation after that.
According to the tire shop, the red dot is the air valve location when balancing is done at factory. Should try to align the red dot as close to the air valve as possible. Dont know how true.
As for the installer, 1 Action Garage Pte Ltd, located at the most northern part of Singapore. Drive another 500m and your car will be into the Johore Straits.
Courteous, Professional and Cheap, they even take the time to rub off the adhesive mark of the previous balancing weight on my pathetic 15" RIMS. It take about an hour to install.
And the best part, no pressure tactic. I want to buy apple and the seller insist that I have orange. You all ever have this problem ?
With Tyrepac, the deal is done.
The Tyrepac downside ..... you need to know what you want lor. There are penalty fee if the tire is not the right ones ........ on your part.
I think I will look for words like Silica Based, Wet and Dry Traction, Noise, Comfort.
Asymmetrical - Can easily fullfil Traction (Outer Thread) and Noise & Comfort (Inner Thread). At the expense of wear & tear. So if you choose this type of tire, try silica based.....harder
Symmetrical - Most sporting tire are usually symmetrical. You want traction then you have to give up noise and comfort. It generally last longer than Asymmetrical. Most factory fitted wheel are sym.
Non-directional - Cross wheel rotation is possible.
Directional - You can only rotate the tire on the same side. So if you have uneven wear problem or wheel alignment problem, avoid. All tire for sporting are directional tire.

Thanks !!! I thought of parking it here as I tend to forget about. And buying tires can be such a mind job. During evening drive home, there was a heavy downpour and ponding on SLE. The traction is just great.......

Wow ........ barely 2 week, tyrepac raised the price 4 times on the KH31 from 77 to 91
Heng ah.......
And after 1000km, the fuel consumption is not bad at all. Currently, I can get 9.05km/L.
Should I do a wheel alignment again ?
I done a WA in Oct last year...........

Wow, good price. But I hope you are not driving a Carens becos compare to the stock 17" size. Your tyres are smaller by 4.8%. 100km/h on your speedometer is only about 95km/h actual speed. You FC will drop 5%............ FYI, i just changed KU31 215/45/17R .. 1 pc for $115. =) good tires and most of all it's quiet.

I was at Autobac recently to buy wiper ........ they sell 17" KU31 & KH31. Their KH31 is more expensive than the KU31.
Saleman said almost same performance but the KH31 is more quiet.....
I did not pay the FC penalty, the traction is fantastic . so ........ this leave me with wear & tear penalty .......... heeeeee..... I guess.......
