That is a main worry also.. but i heard from continental car owners that servicing is not as expensive as it seems.. Their scheduled servicing is only once per 10,000km.. unless korean and jap cars which have the 1000km, 5000km.. The money that i save on road tax and insurance goes to servicing lor.. hahaha

Then it still the same as other makes & models... once every 10,000km wat... in fact the initial servicing at 1,000km & 5,000km is a form of preventive maintenance upon actual car usage... if you dare, u can also skipped these (ie. 1,000km & 5,000km) & jus go for the periodic 10,000km servicings...
So, the way i see it, there's no fact behind that continental car dont need to be serviced as often...
Particularly in Singapore where our driving conditions are considered very harsh... lots of stop/ starts, lots of crawling traffic, warm weather temperature, etc... periodic servicing should be performed as such...
I knew of a person who drove a Hyundai Tucson... after going for his 1st three FOC servicings @ Komoco Motors... he stop servicing his car... & he drove on for the next 40,000km before he went for his 1st actual servicing... his car also never gave him any problem!
Servicing is just to ensure that yoru vehicle operates in a optimal conditions so that wears & tears are kept to a minimal...
Right?

hahhaaaa... i bet this engine oil has became engine oil jelly... I also commented this to my Tucson friend... your engine oild has turned jelly liao... hehehee... I also heard fromsomeone who works in Shell Lubricant Division... he once came across a driver who dont even know that the car needs to be serviced... needs to change engine oil, needs to change/ top up radiator coolant... when his car couldn;t start/ move after driving for nearly 4-5years, & sent to workshop... the mechanic cannot even find engine oil after dipping the dip-stick!!! My sis-in-law also drove her Mazda-121 until the car got smoke coming out from the engine! when check, realised that the radiator is nearly dry! can you imagine this?

Their scheduled servicing is only once per 10,000km.. unless korean and jap cars which have the 1000km, 5000km.. The money that i save on road tax and insurance goes to servicing lor.. hahaha Actually, in a way, that's quite true. For me, the interval is every 15,000km, including 1st servicing. And many conti agents would including servicing (parts and labour) up to say, 60,000km. For paid servicing, if you go back to agent, of cos they chop carrot... eerrr... but isn't Kia (C&C) the same? The only issue probably is parts... which tend to be a more expensive. But again, if you go back to agent, they will chop you. So have to be a little more resourceful. And knowing a good mechanic (that you trust) helps cos he'll tell you what needs to change and what not. Also can give better parts price. But again... that applies for all cars, not just Conti. I do think that there is some truth about conti cars being more expensive to maintain. But if handled well and resourceful (looking for lobangs), it can be well managed.
