Hi bros, I try this intergrated light weight pulley recently. I found the pickup is faster than before. I can easily overtake other big capacity vehicles. For your view.

the oni pulley tat can be changed for our ride is the CRANK PULLEY... stock crank pulley is relatively heavy... tis aftermarket pulley is made of light-weight aluminium material....

eh bro, i felt it before, still quite heavy leh.. wonder how heavy the stock steel one how heavy man... must weigh a lot more!
lighter crank pulley usually helps the lower gears esp first and second.. when the engine revs climb fast..

according to my arm power, the stock pulley should weight around 2.5kg... the lightweight pulley should be around 40-50% lighter than stock pulley. but take note that the aluminium lightweight pulley needs replacement every 1.5-2 years due to material warping caused by high temperature in engine bay.

yeah.. that's a bad thing about aluminium.. aluminium has poor fatigue resistance, low hot hardness and resistance to crack propagation.. guess that's why stock pulley is so big and burly and overspec.. it's meant to last your whole COE.. =)

well... if really hard core, can change all the pulleys in the system, if can underdrive even better, just scare that battery cannot charge properly or timing all gone haywire...

One small mistake during installation or defect in the one in thousand products enuff to kill u on e road... Sometimes something better dun change...there is a reason for heavy mechanism... LWCP is used for maily in race conditions where you will need every single second of acceleration to clock the fastest timing or overtake given the conditions that the front kayu racer mis-shifts or gear position is wrong on certain areas of the track. That would give you the added advantage For a daily drive, people use LWCP because it is not that expensive, cheaper way of boosting the pickup (that's for sure) and they do not redline for 30 mins or 1 hour non stop. LWCP can last an average driver 2 years or up till 3 years depending on driving habits, some last only a year or less due to the driving style again. usually after a race (hardcore type with many laps and redlining all the time at every gear), the car goes into the garage, engine is dis-mounted and all opened up to identify a few things. Damage if any, wear rate, potential possibly of failures at which areas of high stress and many more. This will enable the car engineers who put the race engine together and examine the entire engine and do R&D works on it to either strengthen or eliminate the problem whenever possible. A LWCP for them is like a *condom* use once and throw away and place a new one in. Daily drivers install the LWCP and live with it for as long they drive the car and if nothing happens they won't even bother or think about the LWCP apart from i have a LWCP and im gonna smoke you now! But when problems occurs, LWCP plays a very important part in counter-balancing the engine. Think about why engineers from Kia, Honda, Merc, BMW, Toyota and the list goes on..... they can actually save the money on materials and give u the lightest crank pulley ever designed. But they did not for a reason and a very good one at that, it is made to last you over the years of different styles of driving. Some drive like mouse and some drive like dragon breathing fire so with that in mind alot of R&D has been put in place to balance out the types of drivers we have and also to make the car engine last. Just imagine, if Honda or Toyota or even Kia one day makes new cars and we all know their engines cannot last due to this n that or what not, do you think they can dominate the market share or even gain the support from car buyers like you and me? So bros, whatever mods we do to the car, we have to understand the risks and also types of problems that will associate with the mods we do. I have 3 blown engines before for different types of mod but not on a Kia Gearbox, driveshaft, turbos you name them all i kena before.....until scared now guai guai drive Kia Picanto. (No headaches no worries and best, cheap to maintain too!! ) my lousy $0.02 worth of thoughts... Cheers!
