Does anyone have the knowledge of where the fuel filter is located for our 06-09 magentis?
Is it in the fuel tank under the rear seat?
Thanks

The tyres are performing well. 6 months after installation, the DNA tyres are still quiet.

I have been going to Riverview Auto at AMK Autopoint level 4 for ~5years.
Their charges were reasonable for the first 3.5 years. Recently, Riverview started to charge $25 on top of their service charges (not including oil) for customers bring their own parts like oil filter, air filter and air-con filter. I find the charges unreasonable because parts like air-con filter were not availabe at AMK autopoint for our magentis.
I think I will SEB auto the for my next servicing due in 2 weeks time. I have been there 2x about 5 years ago when I was driving the Hyundai Matrix. They were at Eunos then.

I did not check the price outside.
I will be going for the 70k servicing at C&C as I did not change the fuel filter at 60k servicing elsewhere.
I wonder if C&C will be flexible enough to include fuel filter replacement into the 70k servicing job list.

The flip down sun visor on the passenger side was faulty. It couldn't snap back into the closed position.
Went to C&C at Pandan and the replacement would cost me $181.50!!!

Just change all 4 tyres from stock to stock, Yokohama ES501 DNA DB for $130/piece.
Silent again...
The tyre noise do go up by a lot when nearly the end of life.

Yishun dam is too popular location. There must be at least 20 different types of meet ups over there on a Friday/Sat night.
I'll skip for tonight. thanks.

My previous cerato 04 has the same issue for a while.
There is "tok tok tok" noise from the drum brakes during mild application of brakes. Nothing wrong except for the noise. After 6 months or so when the brake noise first surfaced, it disappears as abruptly as well.
Don't worry about it.

Anyone with the figures on the amount of auto transmission fluid required for a drain and replace procedure on our post 06 Magentis?
What is the recommended auto transmission fluid model and make?
Thanks

I can't join tonight.
Just got the rear view mirror replaced under warranty at C&C service centre. Overall satisfied with C&C Pandan service.
Might stick to them after warranty expires.

Is there a meetup anytime soon?
People might mistaken us for a bunch of silvercab taxi drivers.
Mine looks exactly like the silvercab without the top hat. haha

I've recently switched from 95 to 92 since Caltex reintroduced 92octane petrol.
Engine oil is fully synthetic from C&C service centre.
Some of my driving habits may contribute to lower fuel consumption:
1) discreet use of air-conditioning for eg, nights or cooler weather, air condition may only be turned on 40% of the time. Aircon is used to dehumidify rather than cool.
2) turn off aircon if I wanted faster getaway at the lights or on a uphill slope.
3) Over inflate tyres by around 30N/msq
4) Gentle acceleration from standstill (not too slow to be a road hog)
5) If possible, choose routes that are the smoothest rather than go on a shorter route with tons of traffic lights.

i will be very surprised if C&C service centre does not have a coolant flushing machine. This is a basic piece of equipment in a auto service workshop.
Using tap water in the radiator is unthinkable. Scales will develop over time as the minerals in tap water solidifies. Long term presence of tap water in the engine cooling passages and radiator will cause blockage and ultimately the engine will suffer from overheating.
I'm not around to witness the 40000km servicing at C&C therefore I cannot comment on the coolant issue. Will check with them again in april when my warranty parts arrive.

Was worried that C&C service centre was using concentrated coolant with tap water during the 40000km.
I wasn't around to observe the job being done.
Mileage is at 43800km now. To verify, I just called up Pandan service centre and the service consultant's reply was that Mitsubishi premixed coolant was used for the coolant change.
Can fellow magentis owner verify that C&C is using Mitsubishi premixed ready coolant?
Thanks.

Hi Hattee,
Are you sure that C&C service centre uses concentrated coolant with tap water to dilute? If this is true, it is a big dis-service to customers as tapped water contains too much impurities that will choke up the cooling system.
It is hard to believe C&C use tap water as a coolant base. It is even harder to believe that C&C do not have coolant flushing capabilities.
I'm going to get my coolant replaced this weekend if the tap water thing is true. Will be making a call to C&C service centre to verify.

Second tank doesn't do as well as the first tank as travel pattern changed.
606km on 53.7l of petrol. 11.3km/l
40% Espressway 60% normal roads. I'm happy with the fuel consumption so far.
