Yes, the manual did say 92 but if you treasure your ride, you would want to give it a little bit better oil, say 95.
No regrets for a few dollars more. If you intends to keep your ride for a year or 2 only, then by all means, do what you like.
Cheers, Sebbie.

But I did try RON92 for about a month during my 22 months of ownership. From my records(yes, I do keep an excel sheet), RON92 returned about 200m less per litre of petrol. However, I do recall that there was more hesitant when U step on the accelerator, hence, I switched back to RON95 and stayed with it since. For those who don't need or feel difference in performance, I would say RON92 is sufficient. Not much difference to me at the end of the day. Bernard

thnxs for the input .. been abt 3weeks since i got my ride .. clocked past the 1000km mark oledi .. gone for the first serving .. so next one will be the 5000km ... currently, using 95 for now .. but will go for the 92 aft the 5000km servicing .. the engine shld be run in real good by than ... fyi .. for you folks ..typically ... the gasoline blending for ron92 ...means the petrol coys must meet the min of 92 ron .. and nothing less .... and like all belending operatons in the terminals or refineries .. u can never get exactly blend it to a ron 92 .... so most time then not ..u may actually get a ron 93..or maybe a ron94 .. and if there's an over supply of ron95 .. it may b sold at a ron92 price ... similar fashion, when u pump a ron95, it not exact a ron95 u getting but maybe ron 96,97 ... and so on ... get the picture? My prev ride Matrix, i was using SPC ron92 for a gd 4yrs ..till i moved on to Sportage ... no sluggish ness experienced .... vrooommmmmmmmmmmm

Hi Bros.,
Just want to share with everybody about my fuel discounts. My son lately gave me some discount coupons of $3 with every $40 fuel pump with Caltex. So, I pump $40 , then got discount for $3.00 followed by the general discount of 11% which applies to all. Then hor, I use Citibank platinum card which gives 5% off from your bill.
Hope to have more discounts in future.
Cheers, Sebbie.

I have quite a few of these coupons if anyone is interested. (Caltex -$3 discount for every $40 gross fuel pumped). Tried offering them in other threads, no takers. I've got them off Drive magazine (a friend pass me quite a no. of the coupons: 4 x $3 discount sets). Still have about 4 sets. It expires in Dec 06. I can pass them to you guys. Anyone keen can PM.

Hi guys, Sportage to achieve >9 km/litre is amazing considering the weight and higher displacement of the engine.....my Caren 2 litre CVVT currently at 2000km mileage only manage 8.834km / litre in almost full urban ride where considerably 20% of the time of stops and starts.

Actually 410km / 50L = abt 9km/L consider good already. To me, anything 8-10km/L consider acceptable. Since this is 2.0L with 1.5tons, can achieve 8-9km/L is very good already. not like my current Legacy Gt can only achieve 6 - 6.5km / L
