You are right, our fuel tank can queeze more than what the specs stated, around another 8L or more. Normally the "RED" appear, it used up around 48 - 50 L, and i can pump till 56 ++ untill reach can see a bit spill out. so 56 + 8 = 66L in total

however, i have to point out that normally i won't practice this kind of fueling habbit in Singapore, but in Malaysia, i do it cos xchang rate 2.24 mah.
I read it somewhere by fuelling it to its max will put stress to the fuel line as when engine is running, the petrol near the fuel line expand rapidly, so for the first few click of running, it actually stree the line abit. Short Term and new car not an issue but once our ride aged, better be careful

Fuel tank capacity is just the tank itself.
You can pump more because of the filler pipe that leads to your tank mah.

I just check out the specs in www.kiatechinfo.com that the fuel tank capacity is 65L base on US Model 2.0L DOHC (same version as our ride) So the question now is : (1) Why the specs indicate in the Kia broucher from C&C is uder specs ? (2) Is it a marketing tactics to the so that it will not scare potential buyer off by because of "A BIG FUEL CAPACITY" mean Big Money on Fuel ?? (3) Or the version in Asia have a smaller "Fuel Belly" like we asian have a small Beer Belly ?? hmmm.........

ya. the record holder spoken.
full tank 56L / 1/4 = 14L
therefore 80KM = 5.7km/L
Kit I think you should not go the same petrol station when top up petrol

It depends on how friendly you treat your acclerator, I would say majority would fall between 7-9km/litre. My avg when on 215/65/16 was about 8.5km/l. After I changed to 235/60/16 and did soundproofing avg around 7.5-8km/l now. I'm planning to do more soundproofing(with bitumen + foam insulation sheets) after which I expect FC to drop further. it will not improve ... my fuel consumption has deteriorate ... from 7.8km/l to 6.8km/l ... acceleration feel more and more sluggish ... now top speed at 90km/hr max due to excessive wind noise from the roof rack ... by the time i finish paying my instalments ... i guess the fuel consumption shud disintegrate to 0.5km/l ....

But it depends on hardworking the petrol station uncle, some will take out the filler when auto stop, but some will pump abit more.... Bernard
