I never delete lah, the forum has some auto archive or housekeeping thingy. I don't know the details. Anyway back to the topic on the strut bar, I got mine @ $45 long time back, its original Hyundai item for Tucson/Sportage. It comes in 3 piece:- a) 02 x mounting bracket on top of struts b) 01 x bar that fits on the 2 brackets. It was brought in my ppl from STOG long long time ago, before they revamp and before TOC was started. Bernard

It does reduce body roll when turning/cornering. I felt the improvement during the 1st week of installation, no longer feel it. If I were to have mine removed, I'm sure I can feel the difference again. Bernard

Sad to say I install it at KMS at $75. hee hee kena chop by the korean man. After the installation of the strut bar, the whole steering becomes very light during slow speed turning (example: Driving in the carpark).

Ya,
We got the strut bar at $60 including installation from Koreancar. Some people don't like him because his price is not fixed. It can range from $55 - 75. Anyway, that's business. I also got the side step from him.
Cheers & Merry Christmas, Sebbie.

The part number for original Hyundai/Kia parts for the strut bar as follows: 01 x BAR-STRUT TOWERÂ => 54681 2E000 02 x BRKT-STRUT TOWERÂ => 54683 2E000 2nd part is the brackets, which is why U need 2. To look for original part numbers online lok at this webby www.kiausaparts.com/Bernard

i got mine at SGD60 ... i think ... but that time KIA Sportage cost SGD67K now they cost SGD61K so the price of the strut bar must go up to compensate mah ... oso ... felt the improvement of the steering stability immediately after installation ... 12 months later ... felt like the rigidity no longer there ... probably because the suspension have worn out ... in need of stiffer springs ... using the coil spring stiffeners does improve the firmness of the coil spring but only good for 90km/hr long sweeping corners ... anything more than that ... you will feel the car gonna topple over ...

Your basic assumptions hold some truth..... I bought my Sportage @ 77.777k and my strut bar @ $40 with install. Hahahah.... but I'll switch to the opposite scenario anytime!!! Bernard

Hi, Do agreed looks like there is compensation here, because just got the strut bar and it cost me S$70 (with labour). This year March bought my Sportage at the price of S$53K. How can like that? They should stick to the price.
