Your FC is very much in line with a normal Kia Carens should be when it comes to 50/50 Urban/Highway. If you are light footed to start the tyre rolling, and lift off your throttle about > 200 m before anticipating to stop for traffic light or corners, you may even reach 9.3 km/Litre. So it means, it is no illusion, tyre alignment (toe) was strongly one of the main root causes of your previous < 8.3 km/L experience. Keep it up ~ Oh......JB of course........ was in Woodlands to meet a customer ......that just zoom it. I just any how pick one just outside the custom. After the tuning......the mechanic just drive off with my car ...... give me a fright man ...... test drive. .....heee . Computerized alignment. Mechanic.....advice me to drive 3~6months to see still got problem. Got problem come back anytime......FREE. Then you change tyres. Current tyre can go another 10kkm....maybe..... I think.....my FC have improved by 10%........for every 145km....15km improvement. I am surprised !!! Need to monitor more......cant be that good........ 50/50 driving condition........ a. where did you perform wheel alignment ? b. Your Carens daily coverage is 80 Urban / 20 Highway ? Or which ratio is that ?

After changing to a new set of tyres Kumho KH31. My Carens reached a record 9.73 km/L in Singapore Driving !!! 32.79L for 319.2km
Weekdays driving a 13km normal road to the city and 22km expressway. Evening 25km expressway to home. I clocked 9.73km/L this week. Over the last 3 week it is getting better mileage........ Maybe know the howto light foot on this new set of tyres.........heeeee
Typical range recorded is 9.05, 9.2, 9.73 km/L over the last 3week++ covering 1800km
Weekend driving 8.2km/L ~ 8.7km/L ........
Things I have in my Carens :
a) Hurricane Air Filter b) Iridium IK20 - Reused (from previous owner....) c) Waxco Engine Oil Treatment - Red - Already clocked 9kkm+ yet the oil consumption is near zero. d) X-Gold 5W/30
I think the tyre actually save fuel as the contact area to road is much less than the previous U603.
According to my friends, their Stream clocked 12km/L and the old Wish 10.5km/L. As per their trip meter.....

Bros .. my FC is getting from 10+ to 8+ just wondering what is really the issue.. petrol type unchange using RON95.. on OEM sparks and 16"inch OEM rims.. Car is Feb 07, mileage at 170K
I use to hit 500+ KM with 50 litres.. now hardly even hit 450km.. with the fuel hike... wallet is getting very stretched ..

You may be you want to try to send your carens to wheel alignment. Are you driving straight went your steering wheel is balanced ? (Balanced as in your steering wheel is centered) If you need to turn off-centre abit then it is probably WA lor. Singapore WA :S$60 ~ S$100 (computer) JB Hawk Tayar Chain : RM40. These wheel alignment shop will tend to sell you a Cambar Bolt and Nut for about S$20 (SIN & JB). Tell them no need as the Caren WA can ONLY do Toe-ing, the rest is per factory alignment. If Cambar & something is misaligned ........ then ...... need to change the whole drive assembly ....... Most new design is like that leh ........ CORRECTION : Cambar can be alignment, paid RM$40 to align mine today. Change a Bolt and Nut. According to Internet : Alignment every 20kkm typically...... Mine from 8 to 9.8km/l after alignment..... Hi Bro, so finally Kumho Solus KH31 managed to bring you 9.8km/L ! Thumbs up ! Is your drive everyday split into 40/60 city/highway style ? Or what ratio ? Those traffic lights moments, do you shut off engine ? or let engine idle ? how about air conditioner, are you turning on during daily trip ? Hey ...... have not heard from you for a long long time ........ how are you ?? For my 9.8km/L Typical work day : a) 10km City Driving with jam and many traffic lights - CBD b) Then 24km on CTE-SLE - 5km of slow traffic to office c) Evening 25km SLE-CTE-PIE - about 10km of slow traffic Ave 60km about ...... 33/66 city/Hwy.... The highest ever is 9.95km/L. Now about 9.5km/L with 15kkm EO ....... Changing soon..... I think it is more of the wheel alignment.......... KH31 is fantastic !!!! Thanks for sharing, seems like with such heavy traffic and stop-and-go traffic, you could still hit >= 9.5 km/L, this is And not to forget you have kept your EO to 15k km, it is clearly Amsoil Signature Series-kinds of EO (those which supposedly to last 20k km)? Did your Carens undergo any QF (Quick Flash) before ? Or some kinds of ECU remapping ? Thanks for sharing about KH31, many people in internet gave thumbs up to this tyre too. Thanks for asking about me, appreciate that ! I have been around here, and reading reading, occasionally voicing views. My wife at the wheel of Carens, and as usual, heavy footed and the MPV could not obtain such good record as yours, occasional 9km/L, most of the time 8 ~ 8+ km/L. Not good for Carens leh....need 5W30 for low FC. And your engine ECU programming still original without any remapping ? I think they only sell 5W40 ........ that is a few weeks back at Giant in Singapore. Is X-Gold 5W30 still being sold today in Giant shopping mall ?

Oh.... I have measured the difference between 5W30 and 5W40. The 5W30 being a thinner oil can improved probably 15~20km for every full tank lor. My ECU is stock. Is your Rondo on e-throttle type or wire line type ? Not good for Carens leh....need 5W30 for low FC. And your engine ECU programming still original without any remapping ? Ny Carens model is 2.0 L displacement without cruise control, no wonder this advantage of E-Throttle is not available. When you first changed to performance air filter from the stock-fabric air filter, did you have noticeable difference in driving mechanics such as the same amount of right foot depressing distance and how agile or lively Carens moves forward as compared to fabric air filter? There is a slight improvement on the FC ..... 10~20km ..... cant remember. I wrote something on this here. But the pick up is fantastic, big differences compare with stock filter. After first click, can top about another 10ltr. 300km should be in the 9km/l region. When I fill to the brim, I touch full tank mark at 180km. 3/4 mark at 270km lor...... 9.33km/L i am getting back 300KM on half tank ( based on the fuel gauge) Is this the norm for you guys?
