Hi Guys, I'm considering to buy a KIA Sportage or Suzuki Grand Vitara. Juz a few things to check with the owners here: 1) How's the FC? 2) Does it comes with dual airbags? 3) How much is the OMV? 4) Any known problems with the car? Thank for your help.

My batch oni comes with driver side airbag, not sure about current version. 3) How much is the OMV? My OMV is $18000+ 4) Any known problems with the car? My ride 1.5 yrs, so far no problem.

Sportage is nice, I like it. No problems so far after I bought it 3 years ago. Just that it's pity that it's only 2WD. I wud prefer a 4WD GV. And the price is not much difference from a Sportage. You can upgrade to much bigger size tyres and can really make the GV stand tall. A white GV wud be very nice. Don't think about FC, bcos SUVs really drink. 9KM/litre are those who drives like .... turtle. Nonetheless, you can choose to buy a used Sportage 1st.. High paper value, no worries if u decided to change another car again in 1 or 2 years time... Bcos I'm selling mine

I've had mine for 39 months and I intend to keep it for another 20 months at least. I only had 1 problem during the 39 months, I had the brake warning indicator came on 1 weekends, sent to C&C on Monday and got it back a few hours later. (Forgot to ask them what's wrong) Other then that, its normal servicing and will only cost you more $$$ if you have itchy fingers, buttocks, ears and maybe eyes. Fingers & buttocks - Those who wanna mod Ears & Eyes - Those into audio-visual systems(ICE) & GPS Kit, you mentioned the price is pretty close between Sportage & Vitara, is that right? For brand new? If the price is close, I'll think its the 2.0 GV isn't it? Isn't that one 2WD as well? I thought the 4WD GV is in 2.7L form. Bernard

There'll be great power difference obviously on the 2.0 & 2.7 4WD. I'm comparing with Sportage and the GV 2.0 4WD, not much difference on price. I remember you're telling me about the XL7, went to Champion motor and was informed it's not in town.

Kit,
The XL7 was available for the previous generation of GV. Current version might not come to Singapore as its 3.5L and looks totally different from the GV.
Previous gen GV XL7 comes in 2.7L form, current 2.7L is in similar config as the Vitara.

I had my aircon compressor changed 2 weeks ago.
Got weird sound, so got it changed while it is still under warranty.
I agree with Kit, SUVs have big appetite for fuel. Just dun be a heavy right footer if you wanna save petrol.
So far no other problems.

Had my 2.7 Sportage for last 28 months and so far there are no major problems. I had the car stalled at one time and the agency had to re-computerised back to normal. Apart from that, I have no complaints on this car. As SUVs are built on heavy base, therefore FC is rather high. The downside of it, I found that the paint is easily chipped off. Sum it up, it is rather a good car.
