Hi,
I just bought a 2nd hard Kia Carens last year. I like to know from other Carens owners whether the hazard lights come on when the doors are opened. If so, is this setup part of the car alarm system? My left signal light sometimes will remain turn on after hazard lights stop or when I lock the door with the remote. Anyone has had this experience with their Carens before?

To answer your question. Yes. The hazard light will be on for 10 seconds only when your ACC is in "ON" position. On any door including the rear door. I never figure out or located the alarm system. Never experience a jammed-on signal light before in my 2008 Carens. It is likely that you signal relay is about to breakdown. It should be near your steering wheel as you can hear the tick tick tick sound when you signal. Try use a screw driver knob to give the relay a gentle knock may help as the lever in the relay could be misaligned. Hazard Light switch and alarm system is 2 separate system. Hazard light is controlled by the BCM - Body Control Module - which include air-bag, restraint, hazard lights, impact sensing ........... it is under your arm rest ..... need to remove a lot of plastic to see it. Does this happen always?
Are all your signal bulbs, left right front and rear all working conditions?
Any blown bulbs?

No, this happens intermittently. All signal bulbs are working.

Hi appletree,
I too suspect the relay in the alarm system is causing the problem. I located the alarm control box below the right A pillar, but haven't open it up. There are many cables connected to it. I try knocking the box to no effect. Will try opening it next to spray some contact cleaner. Worst situation, will have to change the alarm system or remove it.
I also have a problem with the reverse camera. There use to be guide lines but now they are gone. And the image is showing wrong orientation. Left side is shown as right side on the LCD display screen. I wonder does Carens comes standard with reverse camera. I notice many other Carens has reverse camera.

If there is a wiring diagram on the alarm module, you may want to just cut the left signal line. If you are VERY SURE. As for ICE, it is most likely a minor setting issue. Try to see if there is a option in the SETTING. If you change battery, try a HARD RESET by poking the reset button. Or in any case, hardware reset can fix a lot of issue. Like my case, I have change 2 ICE already, the first ICE if I don't do a HW RESET, I cannot control brightness. The second one, cannot control the BASS. HW RESET require you to redo all radio station preset. There is a BACK CAMERA setting usually called LEFT/RIGHT or MIRROR or INVERTED ..... play with the setting will fix that. Our Carens use aftermarket ICE and camera, most importer in Singapore import car without ICE option to save on ARF tax of 130% of Cost+Shipping.
