Hey Guys,
I need advise as I'm selling off my Picanto.
Just got a direct buyer thru SGCarMart, so have 2 question that I'm not too sure of.
1) She scrap her old car thru the agent she know. She mention that the agent will not charge her any admin fee, as she scrap her old car with them. But I will have to pay for admin fee as I have unsettle outstanding bank loan that the agent will need to proceed with. Means I have to pay the admin fee to her agent for the paper work to clear the loan, unless I pay cash directly to my bank to clear the loan before transferring of ownership.
Is that true that the seller have to pay for the admin fee? Isn't the buyer paying it, and since she scrap her old car with them they will just do the whole process at one go?
2) She also mention that the amount she will pay me will be: (selling price)-(the loan she is taking)-(admin fee) = amount receive from her. And the rest will be from her bank that she will be taking loan from.

Hi,
Sounds like you want to settle the deal with the SELLER dealer and not engage SGCarMart to settle the admin stuff?
Anyway 2 years ago, I have the same scenario but I'm the buyer.
I (BUYER) have paid $100 admin fee TO SGCarMart to process for my Insurance, Loan and SGCarMart admin stuff. The seller just collect the amount agreed on AFTER SGCarMart settle the outstanding loan and insurance. (Insurance part might change to settle yourself, need to ask SGCarMart)
When in doubt call SGCarMart, they will explain to you, UNLESS you want to deal it with HER dealer, then any info above is useless. Hope this help.

Is this topic still active?
I'm selling my Pica to an agent. Can anyone advise what to look out for before handing over?
Thanks.

I bought my Pica from a direct owner through sgcarmart back in 2009.
No admin fee involved for me as the buyer. I transacted directly with the seller (owner, not dealer).
The owner had outstanding loan which I advised her to clear the loan first before I take over the car. I paid her cash in full. Otherwise, I would have had to handle the outstanding loan part.

If you are selling your car, request the buyer to pay you in cash or cashier's order. That's safer over receiving a cheque.
