Tint Incorporation- A dishonest tinting company
When I arrived at the workshop, I was presented with 3 types of solar films of different qualities. I was quoted $150 for their cheapest and lowest quality, with only a 20% see through percentage & was also told it was illegal. The 2nd type presented to me was quoted at approx $200+ with 50% see through percentage but of a better uv-ray protection compared to the 1st one. Again, i was informed of its illegality and was unapproved. The 3rd and last one was quoted to me at an initial price of $300 & $260 after discount. I was told that this is an approved 70% see through percentage and has good uv-protection. Hence, being less experienced with solar films and the good offer given, especially due to the fact that the 3rd film was affirmed by the worker that it's approved by LTA, I went with the offer. However, to my horror, the film was so dark that it looked like at most, 20% see through percentage. I then went to Vicom to have the film tested . And true enough, with just one glance at my windows, the technicians at Vicom assured me that It is definitely unapproved. Furiously, i made my way back to Tint Incorporation and upon seeing the worker who helped tint my window, I asked politely if the solar films are legal and approved. Without any hesistation, he said yes. I then informed him about my experience and visit at vicom which then led to a immediately change of his words "oh, so dark, of course cannot pass lah!" without a least bit of remorsefulness. Then I finally realized that I was being cheated. I insisted on speaking to the boss who then told me over the phone that the price range for solar films starts from the cheapest $120, which was different from the $150 mentioned by his worker. When I told him my whole awful experience with his worker and the false information given, all he said was "my worker said you wanted dark, so we gave you dark." His worker did not mention that I wanted an approved and legal one who was obviously attempting to hide his lies. Worst, the boss added "do alr, then what you want me to do now?" I was definitely hoping for a refund, but I knew it wasn't possible and I expected them to at least replace with approved and legal films. Unfortunately, the boss demanded a $60 service charge for removing & replacing the films.
I am really upset with this kind of service rendered and the irresponsible response from the boss. The dishonesty of his workers and their attempt to cheat their customers only showed how unprofessional and despicable they are. I am really disappointed despite it's my 2nd visit (& my last!) and I strongly discourage anyone to patronize Tint Incorporation at ubi for window tinting service.
