Hi,
How much is it to re-flash the ECU? I have encounter the pick up of Forte is weak. How much boost can Re-flash ECU give? What are the Pros and Cons of getting ECU Re-flash? Does it void Warranty?
Please advice and PM me.
Thank you.

Quick Flash is one of the package of Original ECU Programming (OEP). Its gives you better power torque, HP and Fuel Consumption.

Thanks Joey for the reply. But will this void the warranty? As of now, how much is the installation of QF and is there a time frame that QF will become not functional? (Eg: Turbo kit does not last for 10 yrs?)

(Eg: Turbo kit does not last for 10 yrs?) QF is totally stealth and thus will not void warranty. It is a software thus it last forever.

Estimated torque/hp increase is 10%. You can't get this QF other than harmony motors. I did with my lancer EX and it is a more enjoyable drive now.
1st thing you will feel is you need lesser throttle to achieve the same acceleration as stock. 2nd thing you will feel is you got more power. Those who have done QF in the past will know.

My review back in 2009, KIA Picanto AT: Re: Regarding QF (Joey pls enlighten) « Reply #5 on Jul 3, 2009, 8:57am » Hi guys, My Pica just got QF-ed yesterday.. Thanks to Joey for providing excellent customer service.. Just want to submit my feedback and also to enquire about some queries that I have.. I'll write this feedback according to these groups: Performance, FC, Queries. Performance: My apologies for being so direct, but basically, when I first test drive aft QF, I was expecting this factor but it didn't surface.. Performance increase by abit but definitely not 10% as I thought. When I installed the Pmax, CAI and grounding, I really felt a difference compared to stock.. So I hope to have this experience once again. It was driving home then I really started to access how effective this QF is.. So I test it out on the slope from BKE to SLE.. Don't worry coz I didn't speed my way up the slope.. This slope has always been a big problem for my pica, esp with passengers.. With a throttle of about 50%, which I have been using all along, I make my way up the slope.. I realised it has become easier to clear the slope.. However, I was still not convinced. Who knows I may have apply more pressure sub-consciously to achieve the feeling of my pica is more powerful.. More tests has to be done.. Unconvinced that this QF really does work, I took my pica out for a drive in the evening.. Pumped a full tank to start monitor FC.. I drive around the streets and then took to the expressway for a spin.. And I also assessed my pica when I drove to work today.. I was closing the gap along the slip road to an expressway.. I have been overtaken by 3 vehicles.. If I continue to let vehicles overtake as a good gesture, I think that the vehicles behind would swear at me for being such a "polite" driver.. Those overtaking cars don't have to queue while we have to wait for minutes before our turn to enter the slip road.. So i pressed the accelerator slightly harder, but less then 50% definitely.. How many percent I don't know.. What I know is that my car just surge forward.. I was caught by surprise and have to brake to slow the vehicle down.. So this is what QF is all about.. It has to be driven hard to show its effects.. While driving through the expressway, I also realised that there is more torque in the region of 80km/hr and 100km/hr.. FC: Normally, my pump needed starts to drop after I've travelled 70+km.. But I managed to squeeze out 100km before the needle starts to drop.. The key point to take note is the mid tank milegae.. Normally, the highest that I would achieve is around 250km.. If I can achieve a mileage higher this time round, that could signify a decrease in FC. Of coz I must take 3 tanks as a gauge, so I could only have the answer later on.. But one thing I'm still not sure is that has my ECU learn the new programme yet? Normally how long does it take to learn? Hope you guys don't mind my long feedback.. Full data logging is to create a customized mapping to the car itself. Although QF is able to cater to intake mods, it cannot cater 'heavy' mods that alters the air flow greatly.
FDL will be tuned using a sideband O2 sensor placed in the exhaust pipe to measure O2 content from the exhaust fumes. FDL can be done via road or dyno. Note for dyno, additional charges apply.
To summarize, FDL is done to maximize the effectiveness of your medications done.

All tuning is done via OBD. No cutting of wires. At the end of the day, your ride look like the same before.

No lah Joey. Only 1% of what you know. You have shown me not only knowledge is required in tuning. Skill is required too!
Cheers!

My first tank of petrol after QF: 518km travelled for 45.82Ltr. That gives 11.3km/Ltr Previously, it was 423km travelled for 41.58Ltr. It gives 10.2km/ltr. The previous tank is even worse. 9.8km/ltr.
My driving style is the same. But now can drive with more torque esp at the lower rpms. Thanks Joey for the great mapping..

Can do on a manual Kia Koup? Kinda new here.... Yes, we are able to do the Koup and Forte. The price is the same. However, we have yet to get the tool the for lastest version of the Koup and Forte which has 6 speed Auto Trans.
