Ya, me too. Mostly I've seen are the whites. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for a blue K5.

I stay in the Northeast too. I've seen white, satin, black around the area. As a whole, I've seen all the colours on our roads except for light graphiti. I think it looks very nice but no chance to see in person.

I just collected the car today, few things I was quite disappointed and would like to check with you guys, is the front passenger seats suppose to have cooling ventilated seats? Apparently my passenger said she only felt warm seats when I tried both the cooling and warm button.
There is a button to silence the sound of the parking sensors, I was told that there is front sensors, but I drove really really close to a vehicle just now and there wasnt any sound.
The signal of the radio isnt that good as well, I hear alot of radio interference despite not being underground when I'm driving. Do you guys happen to experience all these?
Overall the drive was great, its using the 2014 facelifted engine, but the 2.0 one instead of the 2.4. The drive was much more quiet compared to the theta II engine that I test driven.

The front parking sensor only works when your gear is in "R" & that's for parallel parking.

But isnt that going to be very confusing? You wont know whether its the front or rear or both sensor beeping, unless probably they have a different type of sound?

I was disappointed with the front passenger seat as well. But now learnt to live with it. Wife doesn't complain much. I guess C&C need to do this so that later cars can get "improvements". For the parking, just look at the picture in your driver console. See where are the obstructions indicated. One thing I really dislike is the electric parking brake. I like to pull up handbrakes at junctions when I stop. But this one prevents me from doing so due to having to step on the brake before engaging or disengaging. It is also not very sensitive, hence sometimes if pull too fast, it doesn't work. Other than that, I'm still enjoying my drives with it. My wife's only complaint is the seats. She prefers my previous Magentis seats. I prefer this one. By the way, you test drove a 2.4L here??

No, the one I test driven is the old 2.0 theta 2 engine, the current one is the 2.0 nu cvvl engine. I'm fine with the parking brakes as both my family cars comes with electric parking brakes.
Did you guys mail out the warranty card for the solar film?

Any difference you feel?

If yours is the electric parking brakes then its likely its the new engine.

Hi guys, sorry to OT. Happened to come across this at on the US K5 site. Seems like there is 3 mode settings for our steering, like K3, except it can't be changed on the fly. When I 1st got the car, I had thought that somehow my driving had deteriorate as i was strafing left and right of the lane. In my old suzuki swift, I was able to keep dead centre in the lane. But seems like the US owners are experiencing the same issue. I'll try to make time and drop by Alexandra and enquire with the technicians. Keep you guys posted. Here is the link for the thread. www.optimaforums.com/forum/6-optima-engine-technical-discussion/26993-did-steering-mode-change-dealership-today.html

I read somewhere in the Malaysian forum that the new Nu engine is quieter and has better fuel consumption than Theta II. Theta II engine 2.0 MPI : 163 hp (122 kW; 165 PS) at 6,200 rpm 146 lb·ft (198 N·m) of torque at 4,600 rpm NU Engine with 2.0 MPI, D-CVVT : 164 hp (122 kW; 166 PS) @ 6,500rpm 148 lb·ft (201 N·m) at 4,800rpm 9% lighter than theta II 3% saving on petrol than theta II Mine was done at Rikecool myself too so I can't help you on that either.

I think mine is the old Theta II engine. Coz I purchased mine in April, and they were all old stock, according to my SE. The new batch only came in May. I still remember asking my SE why he didn't give me the white that came with the new shipment.

By the way, anyone of you did PPS for your ride? I went to Amorcoat and used their PPS CQuartz for my ride. Today just went for a spa wash and asked the guys to repair my kerb rash. Upon seeing my original rims, they recommended me to put rims protector at their recommmended workshop instead. So now my rims are covered with a rubber layer protecting from kerb rash. Hope it will be a good investment.

You can identify what engine you are using by looking at it, the cover is different. The theta II should look like rectangular and has the word DOHC 16V. The cvvl one looks squarish with the word cvvl iirc.
I'm planning to send mine to revol for zetough coating, they quoted me a 3years package.

With regards to the Electric Park Brake...there should be a Auto Hold function, the car will not move when it comes to the complete stop even if you did not depress the brakes....read your manual.

Like all the normal pps which are of ceramic/glass coating, or they just ask you to go back for regular waxing and such? I was actually very close to going for a PPF installation and then CSII. But they said I need to fix another date to do the PPF as they are unable to do 2 on the same date. In the end, I cancelled my appointment that day and went straight to Amorcoat. By the way, still yet to pop open my hood to see my engine.

Now that the K5 is not in the market, how will it affect resale value? Increase because it is not so common? Or decrease because bringing it off the market might cause perception that it is not good?

But the package they offer is for ppl who don't usually wash their cars, and though I wash then every week, I still go for the package cause they are very detail in washing both the interior and exterior of the car. The package consist of first time application and 4 subsequent full intensive grooming session for the next 3years. And other misc stuff such as 6times free car wash and 10x dent removal.

Should have found out about Revol earlier. Now almost everyday rain I see my car also jia lat. The armorcoat and CQuartz like not fantastic even after wash. Only look nice after their spa wash, which cost me 50 bucks.
